PREPARATION F OR USE 21 SETTING THE CH3/CH4 S WITCH If your TV does not have A/V term inals: W hen the VCR is in the Playback mode or when the VCR is in the VCR position, your TV will receiv e signal s from the VCR on either channel 3 or 4.
PREPARATION F OR USE 22 remote control to select the "L1" posi tion. • If you use the audio and video input jacks on the front of the unit, press 0, 0, 2 on the remote control to select the "L2" posi tion. You may also select the "L1" or "L2" setti ng by pressing the CHANNEL( CH) or button.

Now set the CH 3/CH4 sw itch on the back of the VCR to match the channel selected on the TV.
SPECIAL PLAYBACK 35 Pow e r failure: If there is a power failure fo r more than 30 seconds, Auto Repeat Playback w ill go to off. RENTA L PLA YBACK This function enables you to impr ove the pictur e qualit y w hen playing back w orn cassettes such as those rented from a vi deo shop.
SPECIAL PLAYBACK 36 for SP recording , 2 minutes for LP recordi ng and 3 minutes for SLP recor ding. Example: You are w atching progr am number 4 and w ant to fast forward to prog ram number 7. You must skip thr ee programs. • You can choose the index search mode by pressing the INDEX SEARCH button on the remote control.
SPECIAL PLAYBACK 37 5 A fter Index Search W hen the preset program is reached, the VCR will start playback automatically. • A video cassette must be i nserted in the VCR for this function to work • The number of Index Searches can be set up to 20.
SPECIAL PLAYBACK 38 TIME SEARCH The Time Search function makes it possible to qui ckly adv ance the tape to your desired position simpl y by entering the exact amount of play back time you w ant to skip. Example: To watch a prog ram after 2 hours and 50 minutes from the present posi tion, in either dir ection.
SPECIAL PLAYBACK 39 • This function will not operate in the recording mode. • W hen you want to cancel the Time Search w hile in progress, pr ess the STOP button.

TIMER RECORDING 44 TIMER RECORDING A UTOMATIC TIMER RECORDING You may set the VCR to start and end a r ecording whil e you ar e away . You can set seven progr ams to record on specific day s, daily or weekly w ithin a 1 year per iod.

TIMER RECORDING 51 4 Exit the Auto Return mode Press the RESET/EXIT button to return to or igi nal mode. NOTE: To exit the auto return prog ramming , repeat steps [1] to [2]. Then, press the F.FW D/ button. [AUTO] will then disappear from the menu. Press the RESET/EXIT button to return to TV mode.
TIMER RECORDING 52 Now, compare the channel numbers y ou have wri tten in the GUIDE C H. and USER C H. columns. You must set all of these channel numbers that don't match using the follow ing procedure before y ou progr am the automatic timer recording using the VC R Plus+ sy stem.
