As shown in Figure 2.1 the chimney should: • Be installed through the warm airspace enclosed by the building envelope. This helps to produce more draft, especially during lighting and die-down of the fi re.

This fi replace may be used as a room divider , installed along a wall, across a corner or used in an exterior chase.

Heat & Glo • EXCLAIM-42C • 4013-094 Rev I • 10/06 21 B. Using Offsets/Returns T o bypass any overhead obstructions, the chimney may be offset using an of fset/return. An offset and return may be attached together or a chimney section(s) may be used between an offset and return.

Assemble the Chimney Sections Attach either a straight chimney section or an offset to the top of the fi replace (depending on your installation require- ment). Chimney sections are locked together by pushing downward until the top section meets the stop bead on the lower section.

The closed container of ashes should be placed on a noncombustible fl oor or on the ground, well away from all combustible materials, pending fi nal disposal.
