9 1 3. Rest the magazine reten tion groove on the magazine sup - por t on the camera body ensuring that they are correctly positioned. 1 4. Swing the magazine towards the camera body and firmly press into place with a click. If there is resist ance, the magazine retaining hook has probabl y been inadvertently released.
1 0 32 3 1 30 29 28 27 26 25 24 23 2 1 23. Pull 8 – 1 0 cm (3– 4 in) of paper backing f rom the film roll and insert the tongue of the backing paper into the slot in the take-up spool. 2 4 . T urn the take-up spool one complete turn to ensure the tongue is firmly held i n place by the overlying paper back- ing.
1 1 3 3 . F rom the inactive mode, press the ON.OFF button until you see the H2 lo go on the grip L CD. The LCD then in turn dis- plays the ‘main’ screen. If the camer a is already in ‘standb y ’ mode (the H 2 lo go will be vis ible on the grip L CD) click o n either the shut ter release button or the ON.

5 1 Power The camer a can be set at two active power modes − ON or St and by − as well a s OFF . In active modes, battery c ons umpt ion is le ast in Sta ndby mode and mo st in ON mode.
