Battery Charging E Important Notes • Y our new batteries m ust be charged f or at least 18 hours bef ore you use them in y our vehicle for the first time. • We recommend that y ou star t charging your batteries bef ore beginning assembly of y our new v ehicle.
Battery Charging 9 WARNING PREVENT FIRE • Do not bypass a Power Wheel • Use only a Red Power Wheels • Never modify the electrical OR OPERATE WARNING PREVENT FIRE • Do not bypass a Power Wheel .
TM Assembly TM TM 10 1 2 • Pull fir mly to separate the two b lack motor harness connectors near the rear of the v ehicle frame. • P osition the v ehicle body on top of the vehicle fr ame. • Fit each motor har ness connector up through the rectangular opening in the v ehicle body , one at a time.
11 Assembly • Separate the e xhaust set pieces. Note the R (r ight side) and L (left side) markings on the inside of each piece. • Fit the inner half of the right exhaust pipe (R) ov er the stabilizer wheel on the right side of the v ehicle. Make sure the peg on the inner e xhaust pipe fits into the hole in the v ehicle body .
Assembly • Slide an axle bushing (flat side first) on a wheel axle . 13 Axle Bushing Flat Side Wheel Axle Wheel He x Bushing He x Bushing 11 • Fit two he x bushings into the center hole in a wheel.
TM Assembly Steering Bushing Steering Bushing V ehicle F rame Neck • P osition the v ehicle frame so that the front f aces you. • Fit a steering bushing on the neck of the v ehicle frame . • Fit the other steering bushing under the neck. • Inser t two screws through the side of each steering bushing and into the nec k.
14 Assembly .354 (Small Diameter) Retainer F ork Axle • Place a .354 (small diameter) retainer on a flat surface , inside up . • Fit the end of the fork axle into the retainer . • T ap the opposite end of the fork axle with a hammer to secure the retainer on the axle.
Assembly T M 24 • Slide the right and left handlebars through the holes in the front f ork. • Align the screw holes in each handlebar with the scre w holes in the f ace of the front f ork. • Inser t a screw through the front f ork and into the lower hole in each handlebar .
• Being careful to keep the shoc ks correctly positioned, align the hole in a shock with the hole in the handlebar . Slide the remaining wheel axle with .437 retainer (assembled in step 10) through one shoc k. Helpful Hint: If the hole in the shock and handlebar do not align, the front f ender is not properly seated on the front f ork.
Assembly 17 • Loosen the screw in the sound bo x’ s batter y compar tment door using a Phillips screwdriver and open the batter y compar tment. • Inser t three, size “AA” (LR6) alkaline batter ies in the sound bo x as indicated in the batter y compar tment.
TM Note! Y ou may w ant to install the P ower Wheels ® 6 v olt batteries before assemb ling the seat . Please see “Batter y Installation” on page 21 for detailed instructions. • Fit the tab on the front of the seat into the slot near the gas tank.
Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, k eep the follo wing guidelines in mind: • W ash your hands bef ore applying the labels. • Before applying the labels , wipe the surf ace of the vehicle with a clean, dry cloth to remov e any dust or oils .

21 T M Important Note: Use only P ower Wheels ® 6 volt batteries with A-style connectors and built-in thermal fuses. P ower Wheels ® 6 v olt batteries with external thermal fuses will not fit in the battery compar tment of this vehicle. Use of any other batteries or fuses will damage your v ehicle.
If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. See inf or mation below f or proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or ey es, flush with cool water f or at least 15 minutes and call a ph ysician.
10° Incline should never be more than 10 o 6. Do not operate this v ehicle with more than one rider , seated on the seating area. A child who is not sitting on the seat or who is standing on the v ehicle could fall off , cause a tip-ov er or bloc k the driver’ s view .
• Press the DRIVE and LO W SPEED buttons on the console. • Press the foot pedal. The vehicle will drive f orward at a maximum of 2 1 / 2 mph. • Help your child practice steering to learn how f ar and how quic kly to tur n the handlebar when driving forw ard in low speed.
25 Adv anced Use - High Speed Drive • Remov e the vehicle seat to access the high speed hook-up . • Plug the two high speed hook-up connectors together .
Problem Possible Cause Solution V ehicle does not run Undercharged batteries Charge the batteries. New batteries should hav e been charged for at least 18 hours bef ore using the v ehicle for the first time. After first-time use, recharge the batteries for at least 14 hours after each use.
T ripped ther mal fuse Each P ower Wheels ® 6 volt battery has a built-in thermal fuse. A ther mal fuse may "trip" and shut down operation of the vehicle if the v ehicle is ov erloaded or the dr iving conditions too sev ere.
