1 Introduction The APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is de signed to prev ent blackouts, brownou ts, sags, and surges from reaching y our eq uipment. The uninterruptible powe r supply (UPS) filters small util- ity line fluct uations and i solates yo ur equipm ent from l arge disturbances by inter nally disconnect ing from the utility line.

4 2: S T ART UP Connect Equipment to the UPS Rear Panels 110/120 V: 230 V: • Note: A laser printer draws significantly more power than other types of equipment and may overload t he UPS.
5 Start the UPS 1. Plug the UPS into a two-pole , three-wi re, grounded rece ptacl e only. Avoi d using e xtension cords. 110/120 V mo dels : The power cord is attached to the UPS. The input p lug is a NEMA 5- 15P. 230 V models: The power cord is supplied in the UPS literature kit.
6 3: O PERA TION Front Display Panel 110/120 V 230 V I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTION On Line The UPS is supplying utility power to the conn ected equipment. On Battery The UPS is supplying battery power to the connected equipment. Overload The connected loads are drawing more th an the UPS power rating.

9 5: S TORAGE AND M AIN TENANCE Storage Store the UPS covered in a cool, dr y loca tion, with th e battery fu lly charged . At -15 to +30 ° C (+5 to +86 ° F), charge the UPS batt ery ever y six months. At +30 to +45 ° C (+86 to +113 ° F), charge the UPS battery every three months.

12 Shipping and Service Prepare the UPS for shipping: Shutdown an d disconnect any equipm ent attached to the UPS. Shut down the UPS, and disconnect the UPS from the utility power outlet. Discon nect the battery. If the UPS requires service do not return it to the dealer.
13 7: R EGULA TOR Y AND W ARRANTY I NFORMA TION 110/120 V models This equipment has been tested and fou nd to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pur- suant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
14 Limited Warranty American Power Conversion (APC) warrants its p roducts to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchas e. It s obligation under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing, at its own sole option, any such defective products.
