-20- G 0637/G06 38 Cyclone Dust Co llector 4. With assistance, place the intake barrel over the large cyclone funnel and align the mount - ing holes as illustrated in Figure 17 .
G06 37 /G0 638 C yclone Dust Collector - 21 - Note: Orient the two assemblies so that the large, round intake port of the intake barrel is NOT directly underneath the rectangular outlet port of the blower housing. The outlet port will connect to the canister filters and will not allow room for attachment of the intake ducting to the intake port.
-22- G0637 /G 063 8 Cyclone Dust Collec tor 6. To allow the mounting holes of the lower stand legs to align properly, slightly loosen the 16 fasteners that connect the lower stand braces to the upper stand legs (see Figure 24 ).
G06 37 /G0 638 C yclone Dust Collector -23- 5. Attach the two long brace supports to the filter braces with (4) 3 ⁄ 8 "-16 x 3 ⁄ 4 " hex bolts, (8) 3 ⁄ 8 " flat washers, and (4) 3 ⁄ 8 "-16 hex nuts, as shown in Figure 27 . Figure 27.

G06 37 /G0 638 C yclone Dust Collector - 27 - T est Ru n When the assembly is complete, test run your dust collection system to make sure it operates properly. If, during the test run, you cannot easily locate the source of an unusual noise or vibration, stop using the machine immediately, then review the Troubleshooting on Page 41 .
-28- G0 637 /G0 63 8 Cyclone Dust Collec tor Duct M at eri al General The Model G0637/G0638 is designed to be a cen- tral dust collector system. Locate the dust collec - tor in an out of the way location such as a corner or separate room.
G06 37 /G0 638 C yclone Dust Collector -29- There are quite a number of options when it comes to metal duct, but metal duc t that is spe - cially manufactured for dust c ollection is the best choice. When sele cting your metal duc t, choose high qualit y metal du ct with smooth welded inter - nal seams that will minimize airflow resist ance.
-3 0 - G06 37 /G0 63 8 Cyclone Dust Collec tor St ep 1. Dec ide Wh o Will De sig n For most small-to-medium si zed shops, you can design and build the dust colle ction system your - self without hiring engineers or consultants. We ha ve in cluded some basic information here to get you star ted on a dust colle ction system design.
G06 37 /G0 638 C yclone Dust Collector -3 1 - 3. Directional changes should be kept to a mini- mum. The more directional change fittings you use directly increases the overall resis - tance to airflow. 4. Gradual directional changes are more effi- cient than sudden directional changes (i.

G06 37 /G0 638 C yclone Dust Collector -33 - Ca lcu lat ing Duc t Res ist anc e Adding duct work, elbows, branches and any other components to a du ct line increases air flow resistance (static pressure loss). This resistanc e can be minimized by using rigid (smooth) pipe and gradual cur ves, as o pposed to fle xible pipe and 90˚ elb ows .

G06 37 /G0 638 C yclone Dust Collector -35 - Always guard against static electrical build up by grounding all dust collection lines. We also recommend wrapping the outside of all plastic ducts with bare copper wire to ground the outside of the system against static electrical build up.
