Once the camera is connected to the GV-System, the resolution set on the GV-Sy stem will override the resolution set on the camera’s W eb interface.

Chapter 1 Introduction 1.1 GV -H ybrid LPR Ca mera 20R / 10R The GV -Hybrid LPR Camer a 20R, w ith an external IR Illuminat or , is a 1.3 M P B/W network camera designed solely for recognition of reflective license plates on vehicles traveling at 120 km/hr (75 mph) or less.

Introduction 7 1 6. Based on the live vi ew, adjust the angle of the camera. Loosen the indicated screw with the supplied big torx wrench and adjust the joint.
8 7. Based on the liv e view, adjust the focus and z oom of the camera. A. Unscrew the cover with the supplied small torx wrench. Figure 1-6 B. Hold the connectors and unplug them. Figure 1-7 Important: 1. Unscrew and remove the cov er carefully. Pulling the cover off may cause dama ges to the inner wiring of the camera.

10 1.1.6 Connecting the Camera Follow the steps below to connect your GV-Hybrid LPR Camera 20R / 10 R. 1.1.6.1 GV -Hy brid LPR Camera 20R 1. Optionally connect a speaker to the green RCA w ire and an external microphone to the pink RCA wire. 2. Optionally connect a monitor to the black BNC wire.

20 1.2.6 Connecting the Camera It is suggested to use GV -P A191 PoE Adapter to connect the GV -IP LPR Camera 5R t o the network. Follow the step s below for connection. 1. Connect the camera’s cable to the GV-PA191 Po E Adapter as illustrated below.
Getting S ta rted 21 2 1.2.7 Adjusting the Angles The GV-IP LPR Camera 5R is designed to be adjustable in three shafts for easy and flexible installation. Fir st Sha ft You can adjus t the came ra body by 360 degrees to the ri ght or the left. 1. Unscrew the panning lock screw with the torx wrench.

26 Chapter 2 G etting S t arted 2.1 Looking U p the IP A ddres s By default, your GV -Hybrid LPR Camer a 20R / 10R / GV -IP LPR Camera 5R is assi gned with an unused IP address by the DHCP ser ver when the came ra is connected to the netw ork. This IP address remains unchanged unless y ou unplug or disconnect your camera from the network.

Enter the IP address or domain name of the GV-Hybrid LPR Camera 20R / 10R / GV-IP LPR Camera 5R in the Location/Address field of your browser.

36 Slowest Shutter Speed: Set the shutter speed. Shutter speed con trols the amount of the lights enters the image sensor and directly impacts the quality of image presentation.

38 3.5 Picture-in-Picture a nd Picture-a nd-Picture V iew The Live V iew window prov ides two types of close-up view s: Picture -in-Pictu re (PIP ) and Picture-and Picture (P A P) . The tw o views are use ful t o provide clear and detailed images of the surveillance area.

Chapter 4 Administrator Mode The Administrat or can access and configure the GV - Hybrid LPR Camera 20R / 10R / GV -IP LPR Camera 5R over the network. A dministrator Mode 51 4 4.1.2 Motion Detection Motion detection is used to generate an alarm whenever movement occur s within the scene. Y ou can con figur e up to 8 de tection zones with di fferent sensitivity values. Create at leas t one detection zone to enable this function.
52 4.1.3 Privacy M ask The Privacy Mask can bl ock out sensitive areas from view , covering the areas w ith dark boxes in both live view and recorded clips. T his feature is ideal for privacy protection on locations with private information, keyboard sequences (e.
Administrator Mode 53 4 4.1.4 T ext Overlay The T ext Overlay allows you to overla y any text in any place on the camera view . Up t o 16 text messages can be created on one camera view . The overlaid text will be saved in the recordings. Figure 4-5 1.
54 4.1.5 T ampering Alarm Note this function is not available for GV-IP LPR Camera 5R . The Tampering Alarm is used to detect whether a camera is being physically tampered. An e-mail alarm can be sent when the camera is moved, covered up, or out of focus.

Important: To send e-mail alert upon motion / tampering ev ents, make sure y ou also enable the Motion Detection / Tampering Alarm function.
58 6. Alerts interv al time in minute : Specify the interval between e-mail alerts. The valid interval is fr om 0 to 60 mi nutes. This option is useful for frequent event occurrence.
A dministrator Mode 59 4 4.2.2 FTP Y ou can also send the ca ptured image to a remote F TP server for alerts . Important: T o send F TP alert upon motions, be sure to set up the detection area on the Motion Detection page. For details, see 4.1.2 Motion Detection .

For live monitoring through Center V2, you must already have a subscriber accoun t on each of the Center V2 server .

The connection to the GV-Backup Center allows you to back up ano ther copy of recordings and system log to the GV-Bac kup Center on an o ff site location while the camera is saving these data to the memory card.

This server allows you to remotely access the recorded files saved at the camera and play back vi deo with the V iewLog player .

A dministrator Mode 73 4 4.4 Recording Sched ule Note this function is not available for GV-Hy brid LPR Camera 20R / 10R . The schedule is provided to activ ate recording on a speci fic time each day . Important: This function is currently not supported in GV -IP LPR Camera 5R.
74 4.5 Netw ork The Network section includes some basic but importan t network configurations that enable the GV -Hybrid LPR Camera 20R / 10R / GV -IP L PR Camera 5R to be connected to a TCP/IP network. 4.5.1 L AN Configurati on According to your network environment, select among S tatic IP , DHCP and PPPoE.
A dministrator Mode 75 4 PPPoE: T he netw ork environment is xDSL connection. Type the Username and Password provided by ISP to establish the conne ction. If you use the xDSL connection with dynamic IP addresses, first use the DDNS function to obtain a do main name linking to the camera’s changing IP ad dress.
76 4.5.2 Adv anced TCP/IP This section introduces the advanced TCP/IP se ttings, including DDNS Ser ver , HTTP po rt, streaming port and UPnP . Figure 4-19A.

A dministrator Mode 83 4 4.6 Manageme nt The Management section includes the settings o f data and time, GPS M aps and user account. Also you can view the firmware version and execute cer tain system operations. 4.6.1 Date and T ime Settings The date and time settings are used for date and time stamps on the image.
84 [Date & Time on GV-IP CA M] Displays the current da te and time on the GV-Hybrid LPR Camera 20 R / 10R / GV-IP LPR Camer a 5R. [Time Zone] Sets the time zone for local settings. Select Enable Day light Savin g Time to automatically adjust the GV-Hybrid LPR Camera 20R / 10R / GV-IP LPR Camera 5R for daylight saving time.

Chapter 5 Ad v anced Appli cations This chapter introduces more advanced applications. 5.1 Upgrading System Firmw are GeoVision periodically updates the latest firmware to the comp any website. Y ou can update your camera firmware through the Web interface or GV -IP Dev ice Utility included in t he Software DVD.
