Creating and Using W aypoints W aypoints are locations or landmarks you record and store in your GPS.

On the Map page, use the ROCKER to move the pointer to the map item you want to mark. 2. NOTE: If your unit has a GPS x, the < Enter Region> eld is populated with your current region. Y ou do not have to specify a city in the <Enter City> , as the database has information for the entire region.

18 GPSMAP 76CSx Owner ’s Manual B aSIc o pera tIon Using T racks The T racks feature creates an electronic bread crumb trail or “track log” on the Map page as you travel. The track log contains information about points along its path, including time, location, elevation, and depth (depth requires NMEA input, see page 41 ).
GPSMAP 76CSx Owner ’s Manual 19 B aSIc o pera tIon Log T rack to Data Card — records the current track log to the microSD card in addition to the unit’ s internal memory . Using this option allows you to record a large number of track points (depending on the capacity of the microSD card.

26 GPSMAP 76CSx Owner ’s Manual M aIn p aGeS Satellite Page The Satellite page appears when you turn the unit on and shows the receiver status, satellite locations, satellite signal strength, and the receiver ’ s current location. Satellite Page Options Use W ith GPS Off/On —enables you to turn the GPS receiver on or off.
GPSMAP 76CSx Owner ’s Manual 27 M aIn p aGeS ROCKER , the GPSMAP 76CSx enters pan mode, which moves the map to keep the white arrow (map pointer) within the screen area. When you are in pan mode, you can move the map pointer about the page to highlight and identify map items.
