A replacem ent is provided in th e k it. 2) Remove Safety V alve The following steps will apply for a Baso Valve: 1) Unscrew 11/16” com pression nut on o ven orifice fitting.

Left: Before rem oval, location of screws shown b y arrows Right: After rem oval 4) Remove Door Springs Once the springs are removed, the ov en door will be free to fall.

03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 5 For the door hinge w ith a microswitch: Unscrew the m icroswitch brack et from the oven fram e. It is important that the microswitch be remov ed prior to removing the spring to prevent damage t o the microswitch when the s prings are reinstalled later.

03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 7 6) Install Extension Fitting (if applicable) If pilot gas tube going int o the valve alread y has an extension pi ece (short piece of tubing plus 3/16” b rass fitting), unscrew th e shorter piece of tubing and p roceed to Step 13.

03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 10 11) Assemble New Pilot A ssembly A colored line on the to p of the pilot indicates t he type of f uel used. A BL ACK line is used on a natural g as pilot, whereas a RED line is used o n a propane pi lot. Ensure the proper pilot is used.
03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 11 Reattach original ignit er Connection of taped ignition wire end to orig inal igniter Attach flex tube to pi lot assembl y Unscrew the nut on the end of the selected pilot to re lease the nut, the f errule and the orifice.

03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 16 17) Reinstall Igniter Bra cket Refer to Step 3 f or igniter bracket connect ions 18) Attach Main Burner Gas L ine Flex Tubes onto V alve Two brass fittings (Part 7, Assem bly Drawing) should alrea dy be installed on the Mai n Burner gas inlet and o utlet on the Baso valve.
03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 17 19) Screw on Pilot Gas Fle x Tube, Adjust Main Burn er Gas Fitting Remove the brass nut and ferr ule originally on the pilot gas outlet on the Baso valve (Part 5 and Part 6, Assembly Drawing). Install them onto the free end of the flex t ube.
03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 18 20) Install New Pilot Gas Tu be If a new 3/16” fitting (Part 4, Assem bly Drawing) was installed on the pilot gas tube (Part 3, Assembl y Drawing), uns crew the nut on the free en d of the fitting to release th e nut and the ferrule.
03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 19 21) Connect Remaining Tubes and Thermo couple The free end of each 7/16” flex tube from the valve should be fitted with a 7/ 16” nut (Part 10, Assem bly Drawing) and 7/16” ferrule (Part 11, Ass embly Drawing). Connect the 7/16” f lex tube and the therm ocouple.
03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 20 23) Attach Bracket to Ov en For Standard Ovens: Unscrew the two scre ws holding the orifice brack et to the lower oven fr ame. Slip the brack et (Part 8, Assembly Drawing) un derneath the valve ass emb ly such that the taller face is flush up a gainst the lower ov en frame.
03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 21 24) Attach Valve Onto B racket The valve is attache d to the bracket using the b olt and nut provided (P art 13 and Part 12, Assem bly Drawing). Insert t he bolt into the hole thro ugh the valve and align it wit h the small hole on the back of the brack et.
03/09/09 P/N 4523367 Page 22 25) Install New Kick Plate The new kick plate (Part 14, Assem bly Drawing) slants outwards to accom modate the valve. Ensure that the corr ect kick panel is installed. Left: Old kick plate with flat profile. Do not install this kick pl ate.
