1. MOUNTIN G 8 1.2 Netwo rk Sound er The network sounder can be install ed on a desktop, deck or on a bulkhead. When selec ting a mounting locati on for the network sounder, kee p the fol lo wing in mind: • The temperature and humidit y at the mounting site should be mod e rat e and stable.
1. MOUNTING 9 • A magneti c compass will be affected if the network sounder is placed too c lose to it . Observe the compass saf e distances noted i n t he safety inst ruc tions to prevent di sturbance to the mag- netic c ompass.

12 2. WIRING 2.1 Wiring O utline Connect the power cable, transducer cables, sensor cable, network cabl e and ground wire to their respective locations on the n etwork sounder.
2. WIRING 13 2.2 Trans ducer Cable TD-ID transd uc er (Air mar make transd uc er) The TD-ID type tr ansducer can be connected to t h i s equipment. However, note th e following lim- itations : • TD-ID transducer cannot be used with NavNet , NavNet vx2.
2. WIRING 14 4. Connect the transducer cable to t he WAGO connector, followi ng the inst ructions in the figure below and the inter connec tion dia gram. ( The opener fo r the WAGO connector i s attached in- side the equipment . See the fi gure above.
15 3. INITIAL SETTINGS 3.1 Tap Se tting This equipment is preprogr ammed for use with certai n transducers. A jumper wire i nside the equipment is set acco rding to transdu cer model. Check the jumper wire setting i nstructions on the sticker att ached to the chassis.
3. INITIAL SE TTINGS 16 3.2 DIP Switch Setting The DIP switch S2 sets up th e system accordi ng to the equipment connected. I n the default setting all switche s (1-8) are OFF. The DIP swit ch S3 should not be adjusted; leave al l swi tches in the OFF positi on.

3. INITIAL SE TTINGS 18 3.3 Ope ra tio n Check For NavNet, the DFF3 is powered on/of f from ship ’s switc hboard. For NavNet 3D, it i s powered on/off f rom the displ ay unit. The LED on the c over of t he DFF3 lig hts or bl inks accor ding t o e quip- ment state, as descri bed i n the table below.
19 4. MAINTENANCE 4.1 Ma inten ance Regular maintenanc e is essential f or good performance. Check the items li sted in the table below at th e suggested interval to help k eep your equipment in good sh ape for years to come. 4. MAINTENANC E 20 4.2 Rep lacin g the Fuse The 5A fuse ( Type: FGBO-A 125V 5A PBF, Code No. 000-155-85 3-10) in the snap-in fuse hol der on the power cabl e protects th e equipment from equipment f ault and rever se polarity of t he ship's mains.
