1-1 1. MOUNTING NO TICE Do not apply paint, anti-corrosive sealant or contact spray to coating or plastic parts of the equipment. Those items contain organic solv ents that can damage coating and plastic par ts, especially plastic connectors.
1. MOUNTING 1-2 • Inst all the antenna unit safely away from interfering high-power energy sources and other transmitting radio antenna. • Keep the lower edge of the antenna unit abov e the safety rail by 500 mm or more.
1. MOUNTI NG 1-3 Insta llati on precaution for S-band a ntenna unit If an S-band ant enna unit is mount ed near the end of a plat form to provide sufficient rotation clearance for t he radiator , the ant enna unit, becaus e of its w eight, swi ngs up and down by ship’s vibration and rolli ng.
1. MOUNTING 1-4 Antenna unit assembling The antenna radiator and the antenna housin g are shipped in sep arate p ackages. Assemble them as below . The antenna unit m ay be assembled before hosting it to the mounting plat form. However , do not lif t the antenna unit by the radiator .

2-1 2. WIRING Wiring consideration • T o lessen the chance of picking up electrical interference, avoid where possible routing the signal cable near other onboard electric al equipment (radars, transmitting radio antennas, etc.) Also avoid running the cable in parallel with power cables.
