2 PRODUCT REGISTRATION Read and Save These Instructions This Owner’s Guide provides specic operating instructions for your model. Use your appliance only as instructed in this guide. These instructions are not meant to cover every possible condition and situation that may occur .
3 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING Child Safety • Destroy carton, plastic bags, and any exte- rior wrapping material immediately after the unit is unpacked. Children should never use these items for play . Cartons covered with rugs, bedspreads, plastic sheets or stretch wrap may become airtight chambers and can quickly cause suffocation.
4 NOTE It is VERY IMPORTANT for your appliance to be level in order to function properl y . If the unit is not leveled during installation, the door/lid may be misaligned and not close or seal properly , causing cooling, frost or moisture problems.
5 CAUTION T o allow door to close and seal properly , DO NOT let f ood packages extend past the front of shelves. FIRST STEPS To install the shelf grommet to the shelf: 1. With the wire shelf installed, press the shelf grommet down onto the wire that is anchored into the appliance wall.
6 FIRST STEPS Lid Removal (chest models) See Instructions on hinge label. Unplug the unit. Door Removal (upright models) If door must be removed, unplug the unit. 1. Gently lay the unit on its back, on a rug or blanket. 2. Remov e 2 base screws and base panel.
7 NOTE Y our freezer may have some, or all of the features listed below . Become familiar with these features, and their use and care. Electronic Temp Alarm If a malfunction causes an unsafe temper ature inside the freezer , the high temp will display on the control panel and the alarm will sound.
8 OPTIONAL FEATURES NOTE While in Sabbath mode, neither the lights nor the control panel will work until Sabbath mode has been deactivated. The unit stays in Sabbath mode after a power failure reco very . It must be deactivated with the buttons on the control panel.
9 Soft Freeze Zone (some upright models) Soft Freeze Z one is specically designed to maintain a higher temperature than the rest of the fr eezer to store products such as ice cream. Adjustable Door Bins (some upright models) Adjustable door bins are located inside on the freezer door and provide exible storage space.
10 CARE AND CLEANING • On upright models with a defrost drain (Figure 1), remove dr ain plug on the inside oor of the freezer by pulling str aight out. T o access external drain tube on models with a base panel, rst remove the 2 screws from the base panel.

12 WARNING If leaving door open while on vacation, mak e certain that children cannot get into the appliance and become entrapped. CARE AND CLEANING WARNING Do not open door unnecessarily if unit is off for several hours. Vacation and Moving Tips Short Vacations: Leave the appliance oper ating during vacations of less than 3 weeks.
13 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION APPLIANCE OPERATION Appliance does not run. • Appliance is plugged into a circuit that has a ground fault interrupt. • T emper ature Control is in the OFF position or POWER OFF position. • Appliance may not be plugged in or plug is loose.
14 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Temperature inside appli- ance is too warm. • Control is set too warm. • Door is opened too frequently or too long. • Door may not be seating properly . • Large amounts of warm or hot food has been stored recently .
