4 -EN PRECAUTIONS T emperature Be sure the temperature inside the v ehicle is between +45 ° C (+113 ° F) and 0 ° C (+32 ° F) before turning your unit on.
5 -EN Installation Location Make sure the IV A-C801/CV A-1006 will not be installed in a location subjected to: • Direct sun and heat • High humidity and water • Excessi ve dust • Excessi ve vibrations Correct Handling Do not drop the disc while handling.
6 -EN Remov e the anti-theft cov er when you driv e. This pre vents the cov er from falling of f the unit and interfering with the safe operation of the vehicle. Operation of some of the functions of this unit is very complex. Because of this, it was deemed necessary to place these functions into a special screen.
7 -EN Basic Operation 1 Press the PWR (P ower) b utton on the unit to tur n the power on to the unit. 2 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the monitor . The unit beeps 3 times and raises the monitor . The opening screen appears on the monitor . 3 Press the SOURCE b utton.
8 -EN Basic Operation Using F ace Co ver An anti-theft f ace cov er is provided with the IV A-C801/CV A-1006. Put the f ace cov er onto the IV A-C801/CV A-1006 when you lea ve the v ehicle. Be sure to remov e the anti-theft f ace cov er when you drive .
9 -EN Lowering the Monitor 1 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button. The unit will beep 3 times and lower the monitor automatically . NO TES • The IV A-C801/CV A-1006 is a precision device . With gentle handling, its unique capabilities can be enjoyed for a long time.
10 -EN Basic Operation A udio Mute Function Activating this function will instantly lo wer the volume le vel b y 20 dB. 1 Press the MUTE button to activ ate the MUTE mode.
11 -EN Radio Operation A utomatic Seek T uning 1 Press the B AND button repeatedly to select the desired radio band, FM or AM. 2 Press the 2 (TUNE) b utton to select the desired mode, DX or Local.
12 -EN (IVA-C801) (CVA-1006) 1 FUNC BAND 1 FUNC LIST 33 B AND 55 LIST Radio Operation Man ual Storing of Station Presets 1 T une in a desired radio station y ou wish to store in the preset memory by manual or automatic seek tuning. Press the FUNC (P A GE 1/2) button.
13 -EN Selecting Preset Stations fr om List Displa yed The desired preset station can be selected from the preset station list displa yed. If stations ha ve been titled (named), their titles will also be display ed. (F or Titling Radio stations/CDs, see page 38).
14 -EN Pla yback Only IV A-C801 has a built-in CD pla yer . When an optional Alpine CD pla yer or CD changer is connected, you can control it from the head unit. This section describes operation assuming that an Alpine CD pla yer/Changer is connected to the IV A-C801/ CV A-1006.
15 -EN Music Sensor (Skip) This feature allo ws you to go to the beginning of a trac k. 1 Lightly press the 1 ( g ) b utton dur ing the CD play to return to the beginning of the current trac k. If you wish to return to the beginning of a trac k fur ther back, repeatedly press the 1 ( g ) button until the desired tr ack is reached.
16 -EN Displa ying List of T rac k Titles/CD Titles If CD titles ha ve been memorized, y ou can select a CD from the CD title list. When CD te xt discs are inser ted into the CD pla yer (f or IV A-C801 only), you can select a trac k from the display ed list of track titles.
17 -EN Contr olling CD Changer (Optional) An optional 6-disc or 12-disc CD Changer may be connected to the IV A-C801/CV A-1006 if it is Ai- NET compatible . With a CD Changer connected to the Ai-NET input of the IV A-C801/CV A-1006, the CD Changer will be controllable from the IV A- C801/CV A-1006.
18 -EN Music Sensor (Skip) 1 Momentarily press the 1 ( g ) button once to return to the beginning of the current track. If y ou wish to access the beginning of a trac k fur ther back, repeatedly press until y ou reach the desired trac k. 2 Press the 3 ( f ) b utton once to adv ance to the beginning of the ne xt trac k.
19 -EN F ast Forwar d and Bac kward 1 Press and hold the 1 ( g ) or 3 ( f ) b utton to quic kly mov e backward or f orward until y ou reach the desired section of the trac k. When y ou reach the desired section, release the button. The pla yer starts playing from that section.
20 -EN Cassette Player Operation (Optional) F ast Forwar d/Re wind/Rever sing T ape Direction/Pause 1 Press and hold the 3 ( f ) or 1 ( g ) b utton f or at least 2 seconds to f ast forw ard or fast rewind the tape respectiv ely .
21 -EN Pr ogram Sensor 1 Lightly press the 1 ( g ) b utton once during tape pla y to retur n to the beginning of the progr am being currently pla yed. If you wish to return to a program fur ther back, press repeatedly until the number of prog rams you would lik e to skip is obtained.
22 -EN DVD/V ideo CD/CD Player/DVD changer Operation (Optional) Pla ying D VD/Video CD/CD If an optional Alpine D VD/video CD/CD play er is connected to the IV A-C801/CV A-1006, you can control it from the IV A-C801/CV A-1006. W ARNING It is dangerous (and illegal in many states) f or the driver to w atch the TV/Video while driving the vehicle .
23 -EN Chapter (D VD)/T rac k (Video CD) Sensor 1 Lightly press the 1 ( g ) or 3 ( f ) button during D VD/video CD/CD play to return to the beginning of the chapter/trac k being currently pla yed or adv ance to the beginning of the next chapter/trac k respectively .
24 -EN DVD/V ideo CD/CD Player/DVD changer Operation (Optional) Contr olling D VD Changer If an optional Alpine D VD changer is connected to the IV A-C801/CV A-1006, the D VD changer can be controlled from the IV A-C801/CV A-1006. ∗ Y ou can directly select the D VD changer mode by pressing the CHG (IV A-C801) or CHANGER (CV A- 1006) button.
25 -EN Navigation System Operation (Optional) Contr olling Na vigation System If an optional Alpine Na vigation System is connected to the IV A-C801/CV A-1006, some of its functions can be controlled from the IV A-C801/ CV A-1006. The functions and displa y indicators av ailable will vary depending upon the Navigation System connected.

27 -EN Audio Pr ocessor Operation (Optional) Selecting F actor y (Maker's) Equalization Presets If an optional Alpine Equalizer is connected to the IV A-C801/CV A-1006, the Equalizer can be controlled from the IV A-C801/CV A-1006. Six equalization cur v es are preset on the Equalizer at the f actor y .
28 -EN Audio Pr ocessor Operation (Optional) Creating P ersonal Equalizer Characteristic Curves Y ou can create your own equaliz er characteristic curves. The follo wing is the procedure. NO TE The P arking Brake must be engaged to access the Equalizer Adjustment mode scr een.
29 -EN Adjusting Surr ound Levels and Surr ound Dela y Time If your equaliz er connected is equipped with the surround le vel/time adjustment f eature, y ou can adjust the surround sound le vels and surround delay time to suit to y our preference .
30 -EN Audio Pr ocessor Operation (Optional) Setting DHE P ower or Fine Mode The DHE P ower and Fine modes enhance the DHE eff ects. P ower mak es coarse adjustments to the ov erall balance whereas Fine will make more subtle changes. Listen to how each mode affects the music and select the one most pleasing to your taste .
31 -EN Customizing BBE Mode This function is operativ e only when an audio processor equipped with the BBE lev el (Low and High) adjustment feature is connected. 1 Activate the BBE mode (see the pre vious page), then press the Function button 2 (MODE1) through 4 (MODE3) that has the BBE mode y ou wish to adjust.

42 -EN Other Useful Features Setting Interrupt Icon Displa y (IN-INT) The unit can displa y the icon of the external device such as a telephone whene ver a phone call comes in to tell you there is a phone call.
43 -EN Setting Visual Mode For direct access to the diff erent visual screens, preset the Navigation or the V . SEL mode. Y ou can then displa y the screen of the preset item by just pressing the V .
44 -EN Selecting Rear Monitor If a rear-seat monitor and a navigation system are connected to the IV A-C801/CV A-1006, you can s witch the picture/sound of the rear-seat monitor from the IV A-C801/CV A-1006.

47 -EN Setting A utomatic Opening/ Closing of Monitor When the Automatic Opening/Closing mode is "ON," the monitor automatically opens when the ignition ke y is turned to the "ACC" or "ON" position. The monitor automatically closes when the ignition ke y is tur ned OFF .
48 -EN Other Useful Features Adjusting Tint of Picture Tint adjustment can be made only in the navigation, D VD , A UX1 and A UX2 modes. Tint adjustment cannot be made if a Navigation system with the RGB f eature is connected.
49 -EN Illumination Contr ol Setting the illumination control to A UTO , decreases the illumination brightness of the IV A- C801/CV A-1006, whene v er the parking lamps of the v ehicle are ON. Use this function if you f eel the unit's illumination is too bright at night.
50 -EN MODE1 MODE2 Other Useful Features Setting A utomatic Bac kground T e xture/Color Scroll T ur n on the A utomatic Bac kground T exture/color Scroll to automatically change backg round te xture/colors.
