Quick S tart FS-5 2.0 User Guide Addendum 16 Select the DTE Format This determines which NLE compatib le format the FS-5 uses when recording. The DTE formats displayed depend on the REC FORMA T selected in the last step. Select the DTE format and the display returns to the OPERA TION menu.

Selecting the timecode returns the disp lay to the OPERA TION menu. With the OPERA T ION menu title highlighted, press the Right key once and advance to the SYSTEM menu.
Quick S tart FS-5 2.0 User Guide Addendum 18 Record with the FS-5 There are two modes of recording with the FS-5. • NORMAL Recording Control with the FS-5 trans port keys. • EXTERNAL Recording Control FS-5 recording with the video camera re cord trigger, whether using tape or tapeless.

The original DV or HDV recording plays back at a reduced frame rate, between 10 and 15 frames per second depending on the video type, such as HDV or DV, 1080i or 720p, etc.

These proxy files are easy to share over networks or the internet and provide visual records for evaluating th e larger native format clips.

Metadata FS-5 2.0 User Guide Addendum 30 Overview Default T emplate The default AVID MXF templ ate is functionally similar to the other FS-5 metadata templates. The User can select whic h metadat a tags to use, determine the type of input they receive, or assign predefined values.

Metadat a FS-5 2.0 User Guide Addendum 37 A vid Media Composer Before importing MXF files into Avid Med ia Composer from the FS-5, it is first ne cessary to run the FS-5 Utility , Organize MXF . This utility creates the A vid MXF directory st ructure and embeds the metadata in the MXF files.

This setting is necessary for the function, SET DA TE AND TIME USING NTP on page 49 to accurately set the FS-5 clock.
