Any function that requires your prolonged attention should only be performed after coming to a complete stop.
3 -EN Never Attempt the Following Do not grip or pull out the disc while it is being pulled back into the player by the automatic reloading mechanism. Do not attempt to insert a disc into the unit when the unit power is of f. Inserting Discs Y our player accepts only one disc at a time for playback.
4 -EN T ape Slack Check and make sure any slack in the tape is tak en up before inserting the tape into the unit. A loose tape can get caught in the mechanism and cause damage to the unit and the tape itself. T ighten the tape by inserting a pencil or a similar instrument into the spindle hole and turn until all the slack has been taken up.
5 -EN Basic Detaching the Fr ont Panel 1 Press and hold the PO WER b utton at least 3 seconds to turn off the power . 2 Press the (Release) button at left side until the front panel pops out.
6 -EN Basic About Demonstration This unit is equipped a Demonstration function. Soon after resetting the unit or after turning the unit on the first time, the demonstr ation star ts automatically . T o cancel the demonstration, ref er to “ Demonstration ” on page 10.
7 -EN Basic Adjusting Sour ce Signal Le vel If the diff erence in volume le vel between the CD play er and FM r adio is too great, adjust the FM signal le v el as f ollows . 1 Press and hold the SETUP button f or at least 3 seconds. 2 Press the f UP b utton repeatedly to select "FM-L V .
8 -EN Basic Dimmer Contr ol Set the DIMMER control to A UTO to decrease the illumination brightness of the unit with the head lights of the vehicle ON. This mode is useful if y ou f eel the unit's backlighting is too bright at night. 1 Press and hold the SETUP button f or at least 3 seconds.
9 -EN Basic Sound (Beep) Guide Function This function will give audib le f eedbac k with varying tones depending upon the button pressed. 1 Press and hold the SETUP button f or at least 3 seconds. 2 Press the f UP button repeatedly to select "BEEP .
10 -EN Basic Setting the A UX Mode (V -Link) Y ou can input TV/video sound by connecting an optional Ai-NET/RCA Interf ace cab le (KCA-121B) or V ersatile Link T er minal (KCA-410C) to this component. 1 Press and hold the SETUP button f or at least 3 seconds.
11 -EN Basic 3 Press the TUNE button to turn on or off the DEMO mode. Each press toggles between "DEMO ON" and "DEMO OFF ." If no buttons are pressed 30 seconds after the DEMO mode is tur ned ON. The DEMO mode then begins. NO TE The initial setting at the factory is "DEMO ON.
12 -EN Basic Setting the Bass Forwar d The Bass F orward function shifts the lo w frequency's energy component to the front. This mov es the high energy , dynamic bass sound to the front sound stage. 1 Press the B-FWD b utton to activ ate the Bass F orward setting mode .
13 -EN Basic → P atter n1 → P attern2 → P attern3 → Displa y OFF Adjusting the b uilt-in Cr osso ver Y ou can change High P ass Filter , Low P ass Filter, Phase on this unit, so that you can create y our fa v ourite sound effects . 1 Press the X-O VER button repeatedly to select the desired parameter .
14 -EN Radio Manual T uning 1 Press the SOURCE button until a r adio frequency appears in the display . 2 Press the BAND button repeatedly until the desired radio band is displa y ed.
15 -EN Radio A utomatic Seek T uning 1 Press the SOURCE button until a r adio frequency appears in the display . 2 Press the BAND button repeatedly until the desired radio band is displa yed. Each press changes the band: → FM1 → FM2 → FM3 → MW → LW 3 Press the TUNE button to illuminate the DX and SEEK indicators in the display .
16 -EN Radio A utomatic Memor y of Station Presets 1 Press the SOURCE button to select the r adio mode. 2 Press the B AND b utton repeatedly until the desired radio band is displa yed. 3 Press and hold the A. ME b utton f or at least 2 seconds. The frequency on the displa y continues to change while the automatic memory is in progress.
17 -EN RDS Setting RDS Reception Mode and Receiving RDS Stations The RDS (Radio Data System) is a radio inf or mation system using the 57 kHz subcarrier of regular FM broadcast.
18 -EN RDS Recalling Preset RDS Stations 1 Press the " F " b utton. The indicator will illuminate. 2 Press the AF b utton to activate the RDS mode . The displa y shows "AF" when the RDS mode is activ ated. 3 Press the 1 thr ough 6 buttons in which y our desired RDS station is preset.
19 -EN RDS Receiving T raffic Inf ormation 1 Press the T .INFO button to activ ate the T r affic Inf or mation mode . T o cancel the T raffic information mode, press the T .INFO button again. 2 Press the g DN or f UP button to select your desired tr affic inf or mation station.
20 -EN RDS Receiving T raffic Information While Pla ying CD or Radio 1 Press the T .INFO b utton repeatedly until the T .INFO indicator appears in the displa y . 2 Press the g DN and f UP b uttons to select a traffic inf ormation station if necessar y .
21 -EN RDS 4 Press the P . PTY b utton to activate the PRIORITY PTY mode again. • T o change the progr amme categor y , perform the step 3. • T o disable the PRIORITY PTY function, press the P . PTY button. NO TE In the PRIORITY PTY function, unlike in the T .
22 -EN CD Opening and Closing the Mo vable displa y 1 Press the c b utton. The mov ab le displa y will open. T o close the mov able display , press the c button again. The mov ab le displa y will close. NO TES • Do not apply shock to the mo vable display when it is open as it may r esult in malfunction of the unit.
23 -EN CD Music Sensor (Skip) 1 Momentarily press the g DN button once during CD play to return to the beginning of the current trac k. If you wish to access the beginning of a track further back, repeatedly press until you reach the desired trac k. Press the f UP button once to adv ance to the beginning of the next tr ack.
24 -EN CD Displa ying the Title/T e xt It is possib le to display the CD title if the title has been pre viously inputted. For details , see Titling Discs (see this page). T e xt inf ormation, such as the disc name and the trac k name, will be displa yed if pla ying a CD text compatible disc.
25 -EN CD 5 Repeat the steps 3 and 4 abov e to complete the titling. Pressing the MODE (Audio Control) knob after entering the eighth character , automatically stores the title into memor y .
26 -EN Cassette Cassette Player Operation (TDA-7588RB/TDA-7587R only) 2 Press the : / J b utton to pause the tape pla ybac k. The display sho ws "P A USE." Press again to resume the tape playbac k. 3 Press the c button to stop the tape pla y and eject the cassette.
27 -EN Cassette F ast Forwar d and Rewind 1 Press the g DN or f UP b utton during tape play to f ast rewind or f orward the tape respectively . The tape side indicator ( or ) b links and >> or << mov es indicating the direction of the tape.
28 -EN Changer Contr olling CD Changer (Optional) An optional 6-disc or 12-disc CD Changer ma y be connected to the CD A-7876RB/CD A-7873R/TD A- 7588RB/TD A-7587R if it is Ai-NET compatib le .
29 -EN Changer F ast Forwar d and Backwar d 1 Press and hold the g DN or f UP button to quickly mo v e backw ard or f orward respectiv ely until you reach the desired portion. NO TE This featur e works only in the CD playback mode . Repeat Play on Single T rack or Entire Disc 1 Press the " F " (Function) b utton.
30 -EN Changer Disc Scan 1 Press the " F " b utton. The function indicator at the top side of the "F" button will turn off . 2 Press the SCAN button to pla y the first 10 seconds of each trac k on the disc. The displa y shows the disc n umber , "SCAN", and trac k number being pla y ed during scan play .
31 -EN Changer 6 Press and hold the TITLE b utton f or at least 3 seconds to record the title. NO TES • When the memory capacity for the disc titles is used up, the display shows "FULL D A T A" to indicate that no mor e title can be memorized.

33 -EN Remote Battery Replacement CD A-7876RB/TDA-7588RB/TD A-7587R only Applicable battery: Use two “ AAA ” sized dr y batteries or equivalent. 1 Opening the batter y cov er Slide out the batter y cov er while firmly pressing the direction of arrow .
34 -EN Information CD CD Play er/Changer not functioning. • Out of operating temperature range +50 ˚ C (+120 ˚ F) for CD. - Allow the vehicle's interior (or trunk) temperature to cool. CD playbac k sound is wavering. • Moisture condensation in the CD Module.
35 -EN Indication for CD Changer • Protecti ve circuit is acti vated due to high temperature. - The indicator will disappear when the temperature returns to within operation range. • Malfunction in the CD Changer . - Consult your Alpine dealer . 39 -EN Installation Caution When you install this unit in your car , do not remov e the Detachable Front Panel.
