Batter y Charging We recommend that you start charging your battery before beginning assembly of your vehicle. Your new battery must be charged for at least 18 hours before you use your vehicle for the first time. E 7 • The batter y must be handled by adults only .
Batter y Charging 8 ® • Plug the charger into a standard 120 volt wall outlet. Note: If power flow to the wall outlet is controlled by a switch, make sure the switch is “ ON ”. • Before first time use, charge the battery for at least 18 hours.
1 Assembly • Position the steering linkage as shown. • Insert the long leg of a front axle through the side of a pivot with the groove. Make sure the short axle leg fits into the groove. Helpful Hint: You may need to tap the axle with a hammer to fit the short leg into the groove.
Assembly 4 • While holding the steering linkage assembly in place, carefully turn the vehicle body upright. • Fit a spacer, ring side up, onto the end of one front axle leg. • Fit a cap nut onto the end of the same front axle leg. • Tap the cap nut with a hammer to secure it on the end of the front axle leg.
• Fit the steering wheel cap into the center of the steering wheel. • Insert two #8 x 1" (black) screws into the holes in the steering wheel cap.
• While holding the steering column in place, position the vehicle body on its side. • Fit the curved end of the steering column into the hole in the steering linkage.
• Align the hole in a wire retainer with the screw peg directly below the steering column. Make sure the ends of the wire retainer face the rear of the vehicle. • Insert a #8 x 1 / 2 " (blunt) screw through the wire retainer and into the screwpeg.
Assembly • Note the two T-loops at the end of each seat belt strap. • With the fastener strip facing the seat, insert the end T-loop at the end of a seat belt strap though a slot in the vehicle body seat. Do not insert the second T-loop through the slot.
