10 3.2 INSTA LL DRIVE KIT 1. I nstall drive kit ( PN 103- 1313, 103- 1314, 103-1315, or 103-1317 depending on deck size) per the instr uct ions included in t he kit.
11 FIGURE 1 BELT ROUTING 3. Reinst all the belt gu ide r em o ved in Step 1. 4. Remove Discharge chute by pulling the hair pin and chute pivot pin (f r om the Drive Kit installed in section 3.2) . 5. Remov e the Belt Cover on the r ig ht side of t he deck.

14 4.2 INSTA LL THE HOOD A SSEMBLY A ND B A GS Lazer Z units only (Lazer Z XP units skip t o st ep 6) 1. W hen installing t he Ult ra Vac onto a liquid cooled Lazer Z, t he r ear bumper plate must be removed.
15 5. Install the side plates (I t ems 14 and 15) loosely to the mount weldment and t he wheel channels of t he Lazer Z f rame. T he flanges on t he side plat es should face in towards the unit to provide the m aximum t ir e clear ance. Use the 3/8-16 x 1.
16 7. Re-install t he deck drive belt in the lower gr oove of the double sheave. Install t he plug (I t em 24) into the bore of the double sheave. 8. Remove the discharg e chute fr om t he deck. Discard t he m ounting hardware, but save the discharge chute f or use during side dischar ge operation.

19 2. Locate the position of the mount ing holes. On machines with serial numbers less t han 320,000, clamping a weight plate to t he f ront of the f loor pan ( See Fig ure 7) does this. T he ears on the weight plate should be t owards the bottom (upside down fr om the actual mounted position) .
20 4.7 RUN IN – 52 ” UNITS ONLY 1. Follow t he oper ation instructions in Sect ion 5 to run the unit. Run the unit with the blades and blower engaged f or 2 minutes. Diseng age the blades, st op eng ine and wait for all moving parts t o st op. Remove spark plug wire(s) or r em ove k ey.
21 22 21 2. Ensure the blower, belt cover, bags, t ube and hood are in good condition, pr oper ly attached, and lat c hed. 5.2 MOWING 1. The Ultra Vac blower operates when deck drive is engag ed. Be sure that al l persons are clear of the mower deck before engaging t he cutting blades.
22 7. Re-install t he plast ic belt cover and t ig hten the knobs. 8. Remove the hair pins and clevis pins holding the hood assembly to the m ount weldment. 9. Lift the bag and hood assembly off t he mount. 10. For Lazer Z and Lazer Z XP units, the rem ovable weights must be removed from above the caster wheels.
23 WA RNING POTENT IAL HAZARD ♦ Loading a unit on a t r ailer or truck incr eases the possibility of backward tip-over. W HAT CAN HAPPEN ♦ Backward tip-over of the unit could cause serious injur y or death. HOW TO AVO ID THE HAZARD ♦ Use extreme caution when operating a unit on a ramp.
