Operation Operation Note: Deter mine the left and right sides of the machine from the nor mal operating position. Controls Operator Presence Control (OPC) Levers Located on the upper handle assembly directly abov e the handle grips . When these levers are depressed, the OPC system senses that the operator is in the nor mal operator's position.
Operation engag ed. T he unit must be tied do wn and brak e engag ed when transporting . The park brak e must be disengag ed to mo ve speed control out of neutral or engine will kill. F or manual star t engines: The park brak e m ust be disengag ed before the PTO is eng aged or the engine will kill.
Operation R efer to the Maintenance section and perform all the necessar y inspection and maintenance steps . Note: After starting the engine and engaging the hy dro driv e, if either of the driv e wheels acts slug gish or will not rotate at all, stop engine and refer to the Hy draulic System Air Purge Procedure in Maintenance.
Operation 7. T urn off the fuel valv e(s) and allo w the engine to r un out of fuel. F ailure to do this may cause the engine to “ood” when re-starting . 8. T urn the ignition switch to the “OFF” position once the engine has stopped. 9. R emove the k ey to prev ent children or other unauthorized persons from starting engine.
Operation Driving in R everse T o mov e rearward in a straight line, squeeze driv e levers into the reverse position. T o turn left or right, squeeze the right hand dri ve lev er to turn left and the left hand driv e lever to tur n right.
Operation Adjusting the Anti-Scalp Rollers It is recommended to c hange the anti-scalp roller position when the height of cut has changed. 1. Stop the mac hine and mo ve the driv e lev ers to the neutral loc k position. 2. Disengag e the PTO . 3. Engag e the park brake .
Operation • Place tank(s) in a well-v entilated trailer . • Do Not store the tank(s) or machine with tank(s) in an area where the temperature can rise abov e 120°F (49°C). If the temperature exceeds approximately 160°F (71°C), the tank will release highly ammable propane vapor .

Maintenance 6. Inspect the lled tank v alve and tting openings for dirt, debris , or damage . 7. Inspect the tank hose connection tting for damaged or missing o-rings . 8. Make sure the replacement tank type and size match the tank specication decal.
Maintenance Note: Do Not change h ydraulic system oil (except for what can be drained when changing lter), unless it is felt the oil has been contaminated or been extremely hot. Changing oil unnecessarily could damage h ydraulic system by introducing contaminates into the system.
Maintenance Wheel Hub-Slotted Nut T orque Specication Service Interval: After the rst 100 hours Every 500 hours thereafter T orque the slotted n ut to 140-155 ft-lb (190-210 N-m).
Maintenance Dielectric Grease Dielectric grease is used on all blade type electrical connections to prev ent cor rosion and loss of contact. Dielectric grease should not be applied to sealed connectors .

T roubleshooting T roubleshooting Important: It is essential that all operator safety mechanisms be connected and in proper operating condition prior to mow er use. When a problem occurs , do not o verlook the simple causes . F or example: starting problems could be caused by an empty fuel tank.
