1 Use r’s G uid e Features of the Pr ojector Y ou can make the projector turn on and be ready to project images simply by connecting the po wer cable. Y ou can also turn the power on for projectors in places such as meeting rooms where the power is centrally controlled, simply by turning the po wer on at the central control point.

11 Use r’s G uide Bef ore Using the Remote Contr ol Inserting the Batteri es The batteries are not already i nserted into the remote control at the time t he projector is purchased. Y ou will need to insert the batteries that are provided with the projector before the remote control can be used.

P oint the remot e contr ol l ight-emitting area towards one of the remote co ntrol light-receiving areas on the projector and operate the remote control buttons.
13 Before Using the Remot e Control Use r’s G uide TIP • Do not allo w sunlight or light from fluorescent lamps to shine directly onto the projector's remote control light-receiving areas, otherwise it may interfere with the reception of signals from the remote control.
14 Use r’s G uide Installation Settin g Up the Pr ojector The projector supports the follo wing four dif fere nt projection metho ds, allo w ing you to choose the best method for displayin g your images. * A special method of installation is required for suspending the projector from the ceiling.
15 Installation Use r’s G uide Screen Siz e and Projection Distance The distance from th e lens to the screen de termines the actu al image size. While referring to the follo wing table, position the projector so that the images are projecte d onto the screen at the optimum size.
16 Use r’s G uide Inser ting and Remo ving Cards (EMP-835 onl y) Y ou can use PC cards such as wireless LAN ca rds and memory cards with the EMP-835. Inserting and removing PC cards will be explained using the included wireless LAN card provided as an example.
17 Inserting and Removing Cards (EMP-835 only) Use r’s G uide Remov al PROCEDURE Press the e ject button to the right of the card slot. The eject button will pop out. Press the eject button again. Enough of th e PC car d will be eject ed so that yo u can grasp th e edge of the card and pull it st raight out of the slot.
18 Inserting and Removing Cards (EMP-835 only) Use r’s G uide Access Lamp Stat uses When a memory card has been ins erted into the card slot of the projector , you can check t he access status for the memory card by noting whether the access lamp i s lit and what colour it i s, as described below .

39 Turning the Projector On Turning the Projector On Use r ’ s Guide PROCEDURE While pulling the foot adjust lever at the front of the projector , lift up the fr o nt of the projector to e xte nd the front adjustable f oot. Extend the front adjustable foot until the desired angle is obtained, and then release the foot adjust lever .

51 Use r ’ s Guide Functions f or Enhancing Pr ojection This section describes the v arious useful functions that can be used to enhance presentations.
52 Functions for Enhancing Projection Use r ’ s Guide Press the [Enter] button. The selected images are then pro jected in the activ e window . If you press the [Enter] button once m ore, the pre vie w functio n is cancelled and the images in the acti ve window are projected.

The signal source will s till be playing back the ima ges ev en while projection is paused, and so i t will not be possible to resume projection from the point where it was paused.
