Ov er view 1-2 Introduc tion The 2H252-25R is used to connect individual high-bandwidth user devices, such as workstations, or to pro vide a central switching point for mu ltiple 100-Mbps Fast Et hernet se gments.
Ov erview Introduc tion 1-3 The RAD requests start at an interval of 1 pe r second. The interv al then doubles after e very transmission until an interv al of 300 seconds is reach ed.
Ov er view 1-4 Introduc tion 1.1.5 Remote M onitoring (RMON) The 2H252-25R supports all nine Ethernet RMON grou ps. The Statis tics, Alarms, Events and History groups are enabled on all ports b y def ault.
Ov erview Introduc tion 1-5 Administrators can conf igure up to four rate lim it rules per port; ho wev er , each rule must not include conflicting 802.1p priority v alues. In order to control traf fic inbound an d outbound on the same port, two rate limi t rules must be conf igured (one inboun d and one outbound).
Ov er view 1-6 Introduc tion 1.1.11 802.1 P or t Priority The 802.1 port priority is use d to assign a defa ult priority to the frames receiv ed without priority information in their tag header , map prioritized frames to the appropriate transmit queues, and prioritize frames according to protocol type.
Ov erview Introduc tion 1-7 1.1.15 Standar ds Compatibility The 2H252-25R is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3x, 802.1D, and 802.1Q standards. The 2H25 2-25R pro vides IEEE 802.1D Sp anning T ree Algorithm (ST A) support to enhance the o verall reliability of the netw or k and protect against “loop” conditions.
