Chapter 1 13 Hot Keys The computer employs hotkeys or key combinations to access most of the computer ’s controls like screen brightness, volume out put and the BIOS utility . T o activate hot keys, press and hold the < Fn> key before pressing the other key in the hotkey combination.

Chapter 2 21 System Utilities BIOS Setup Utility The BIOS Setup Utility is a hardware configuration prog ram built into y our computer ’s BIOS (Basic Input/ Output System). Y our compute r is already properly configured and optimi zed, and you do not need to run this utility .
22 Chapter 2 Information The Information screen displays a summary of your computer ha rdware information. NOTE: The system information is su bject to diff erent models. Parameter Description CPU T ype This field shows the CP U type and spee d of the system.

24 Chapter 2 Advanced The Advanced screen allows the user to c onfigu re the various advanced BIOS options. IMPORT ANT : Making incorrect settings to item s on these pages may cause the system to malfunction. Unless you have experience adjus ti ng these items, we re commend that you leave these setti ngs at the default values.

Chapter 2 33 BIOS Flash Utilities The BIOS flash memory upd ate is required for th e following con ditions: • New versions of system programs • New features or options • Restore a BIOS when it becomes corrupted. Use the Phlash util ity to update the system BIOS flash ROM.
34 Chapter 2 DOS Flash Utility Perform the following steps to use the DOS Flash Utility: 1. Press F2 during boot to enter the Setup Menu. 2. Select Boot Menu to modify the boot priority order , for example, if using USB HDD to Update BIOS, move USB HDD to position 1.

42 Chapter 3 General Information Pre-disassembly Instructions Before proceeding with the disassembly procedure, make su re that you do the following: 1. T urn off the power to the system and all peripherals. 2. Unplug the AC adapter and all power and signal cab les from the system.

84 Chapter 3 LCD Module Reassembly Procedure Replacing the LCD Panel 1. Replace the left antenna and cable as shown. Ensure that the cable is inserted under each tab strip. 2. Replace the right antenna an d ca ble as shown. Ensure that the cable is inserted under each tab strip.
Chapter 3 85 4. Replace the securing strips holding the Mic cable in pl ace. 5. Align the LCD brackets as shown. S tarti ng with the top most screws (marke d with U ) replace the eight screws (four on each side) in the brackets as shown. 6. T urn the panel over .
86 Chapter 3 7. Align the LCD Panel cable as shown and press down to engage th e adhe sive pads. 8. Place the LCD P an e l in th e ba ck co ver . 9. Secure the LCD mod u l e wi t h th e tw o secu ring screws. 10. Insert the Camera Module ri ght side first to engage the securing clip.

88 Chapter 3 Replacing the LCD Bezel 1. Locate the bezel correctl y and press down the edges until there are no gaps between the bezel and th e LCD Module.
Chapter 3 89 Main Module Reassembly Procedure Replacing the CPU Replacing the Thermal Module 1. Carefully turn the mainboard upside down (CPU side up), and insert the CPU into the CPU bracket as shown. 2. Using a plastic screw driver , lock the CPU in the socket as shown.
90 Chapter 3 Replacing the CPU Fan Module Replacing the Mainboard 1. Align the Fan Module on the screw brackets. 2. Replace the three securing screws. 3. Connect the Fan cab le to the Mainboard. 1. T urn the Mainboard over . Connect the DC IN Cable to the Mainboard.
Chapter 3 91 Replacing the Modem Module 2. Ensure that the Mainboa rd is face up (the Hea tsink and CPU are not visible). Place the Mainboard in the chassis, left side first (1), and press down to install (2). NOTE: Make sure the I/O port s are posi tioned correctly through the lower cover , and the screw sockets are visible through the mainboard.
92 Chapter 3 Replacing the Power Board 1. Feed the Power Board FFC thought the upp er base as shown. 2. Place the Power Board on the upper base and replace the adhesi ve strip. 3. T urn the upper base over and replace th e adhesive strip securing the Power Boa rd FFC in place.
Chapter 3 93 Replacing the Speaker Module 1. Replace the left side speaker in the upper base and secure it using the two screws provided.
