5 Safety during use • Overheated fats and oils can ignite quickly . When cooking with fat or oil (e.g. chips) do not leave the appliance unattended. • There is the r isk of burns from the appliance if used car elessly . • Remove stickers and film fr om the glass ceramic.

8 T ouch Contr ol sensor fields The appliance is operated using T ouch Contr ol sensor fields. Functions ar e controlled by touching sens or fields and c onfirmed by displays and acoustic signals. T ouch the sensor fields fr om above, without covering other sensor fields.
9 Residual heat indicator 1 Wa r n i n g ! Risk of bur ns from r esidual heat. After being switched off, the cooking zones need some time to cool down. Lo ok at the residual he at indi- cator . 3 Residual heat can be used for melting and keeping food warm.
10 Operating the appliance 3 Use the induction cooking zones with suitable cookware. Switching the appliance on and of f 3 After switching on, within approx. 10 se conds a heat setting or a function must be set, otherwise the appliance aut omatically switches itself of f.
11 Using the automatic warm-up function All cooking zones are equippe d with an automatic warm-up function. The automatic warm-up func tion sets the c ooking zone to the highest setting for a certain period of time and then auto matically swit ches back to the cook- ing setting that was originally set.
12 Switching the power function on and off The power function makes more power available to the induction cook- ing zones, e.g. to bring a large quantity of water to the boil quickly . The power function is activated for 10 minutes. After that the induction cooking zone automatically switches back to heat se tting 9.
13 Using the child safety device The child safety device pr events unintentional use of the appliance. 3 The child safety device can only be switched on and of f, if the appliance is switched on, but no cooking zone has a heat setting set.
14 Using the timer All cooking zones can use each use one of the two timer functions at the same time. 3 If a heat setting is set on this cooking zone in addition to a countdown timer , the cooking zone is switched of f after the time set has elapsed.
15 Setting the time 3 If other Timer functions ar e set, after a few se conds the shortest r emaining time for the right-hand or l eft-hand ti mer is displayed. The respective pilot light flashes. Switching of f the Timer function Step Control panel Indicator 1.

18 Tips on Cooking and Frying 3 Information on acrylamides According to the latest scientific know ledge, intensive browning of food, es- pecially in product s containing starch , can constitute a health r isk due to acrylamides. Ther efore we r ecommend cooking at the lowest possible t em- peratures and not br owning foods too much.
19 Pan size Induction cooking zones adapt automatically to the size of the bottom of the cookware up to a certain limit. However the magnetic part of the bottom of the cookware must have a minimum diameter depending upon the size of the cooking zone. 3 The cookware must be placed centrally on the cooking zone.
20 Examples of cooking applications The information given in the following table is for guidance only . The power function is suitable for heating large quantities of liquid.
21 Cleaning and Car e 1 T ake care! Risk of burns f rom r esidual heat. 1 Wa r n i n g ! Sharp objects and abrasive clean ing materials will damage the appliance. Clean with water and washing up liquid. 1 Wa r n i n g ! Residues from cleaning agents w ill damage the appliance.

Repairs to the appliance ar e only to be carried out by qualified service engineers. Considerable danger to the user may result fr om improp- er repairs.
24 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials ar e environmentally friendly and ca n be recyc led. The plastic components ar e identified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the packaging materi als in th e appropria te container at the community waste disposal facilities.
25 Installation Instructions Safety instructions The laws, ordinances, dir ectives and standards in forc e in the country of use are t o be followed (safety r egulations, proper re cycling in accordance wit h the regula tions, etc.) Installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
26 A device must be pr ovided in the electr ical installation which allows the ap- pliance to be disconnected fr om the mains at all poles with a contact open- ing width of at least 3 mm. Suitable isolation devices include line pr otecting cut-outs, fuses (scr ew type fuses are to be r emoved from the holder), earth le akage trips and contac- tors.
