9 2. Hardware Installation Step 1. Connect the ADSL l ine Connect the Line interface of the device to the M od em interface of a spl itter using a telephone cable. Connect a telephone t o the Phone interface of the splitter using a tel ephone cable. Connect the Li ne interface of the splitter to your existing, incoming line.

IP Address Setting To use the router t o access the Int ernet, the PCs in the n etwork must have an Ethernet adapter inst alled and be connected t o the router either directly or through a hub or s witch. The TCP/IP protoc ol of each PC ha s to been instal led and the IP Address of eac h PC has to be set in the sam e subnet as th e router.

In the In ternet Protocol Ve rsion 4 (TCP/IP v4 ) Properties win dow, select Obtain an IP a ddress automatically and Obtai n DNS server add ress automatically as shown on the fol lowing screen. 5. Click OK to confi rm the setting. Your PC will now obtain a n IP address automatically from your r outer’s D HCP server.
