10 2. Hardware Installation 1. Connect the ADSL l ine. Connect the line p ort of the router of the device to th e mode m interface of a splitter using a telephone cable. Con nect a telephone to the Phone int erface of the splitter usi ng a telephone cabl e.
11 3. Connect the power adap ter to the r outer. Plug one end of the power adapter int o a wall outlet and connect the other end to the 12 V interface of the devic e.

13 5. Firewall settings. Please turn off all personal fi rewalls before you continue the s etup – firewalls can block communi cation between your PC and router. Note: You must us e the power adapter included in t he package with th e router, do NOT att empt to use a third -party power adapter.
14 3. Locate the “Netwo rk Connections” i con and doubl e-click to open network connection sett ings. 4. Select the “Local Area Connection” icon and rig ht-click it to open the sub-menu, then sel ect “Properties” .

IP Address Setting To use the router t o access the In ternet, the PCs in the n etwork must have an Ethernet adapter inst alled and be connected to the router either directly or through a hub or s witch. The TCP/IP protoc ol of each PC must be inst alled and the IP Address of e ach PC has to be set i n the same subnet as th e router.
18 2. C lick the Network icon and then select Op en Network a nd Sharing Center to open th e Network and Sh aring Center wind ow. 3. Cl ick Ethernet to open t he Et hernet S tatus window , and then select Properties . The Local Area Con nection window will ap pear.

21 4. In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TC P/IP v4 ) Properties window, select Obtain an IP a ddress automatically and Obtain DNS server add ress automatically as shown on the following screen. 5. Click OK to confirm the sett ing. Your PC will now obt a in an IP address automatically from your r outer’s D HCP server.

24 4. EZmax Setup W izard You can confi gure the router by run ning the setup wiz ard on the CD -ROM included in t he package contents. The wizard enables you to configure your Internet connection, u pgrad e the firmware and change the router’s password.
