4 Product c omponents Gener al descripti on The USB FDD is a por tab le and sl im exter nal floppy disk drive in a plastic housing for use with computers that have a USB connector . T o us e the USB FDD, a personal comput er with a USB port is required, installed with an operating system tha t suppo r ts USB , and the USB FDD dr iver softwar e.

6 Setting u p the product for Windows W indow s 2000 T o install th e USB FDD drivers in Windows 200 0: 1 Connect the USB c able to the USB po rt on the com puter . 2 T u rn on your computer . After Window s 2000 automatically installs the drivers, a F ou nd New Hardw are message ap pears next to the clock on the Wi n d o w s ta s k b a r.

Using the p roduct 11 U sing the product Us ing the USB FDD with W indow s USB H ub If using a USB Hub t o power the USB FDD , be su re to use a self-powered hub that utilizes an AC power adapter . D o not us e bus-powered hubs, such as USB hub dongles or the USB po r ts built into k eyboards.

Using the p roduct 15 4 Click to confirm the disk (volume) shou ld be erased. When the process complet es, the floppy disk is ready for operati on. Mac OS X 9.x If the floppy disk is not yet formatted for use, a messag e will app ear indicating the disk will need to be initializ ed using the Disk Utility pr ogram pri or to opera tion.
