7 Digital Video Camera Controls Top View: 1. Microphone 2. Speaker Front Side View: 1 . Lens 2. Self-timer LED 3. Built-in Flash Terminal Compartment The DXG-305V has three port s for attaching the follo wing cables: Audio Output, Video Output, and USB.
8 BACK VIEW: 1. Multi-function Button- In all modes, this selects directions such as Up , Down , Left , Right and other special fu nctions. 2. Shutter Bu tton - Press to take pictures in Capt ure mode, and to start & stop recording vid eos or voices in Video or V oice mode.
9 Bottom View: 1. Color Liquid Crystal Display 2. Display Button -In Video mode and Came ra mode, this button will c lear the icon on t he LCD panel and allow you t o enter the help s creen: Normal → Full screen → Help In other modes, this button will he lp you to enter help screen directly: Normal → Help Screen.
10 Preparing Your Digital Video Camera ● Step 1 Insert four "AAA" batte ries into the batte ry compartment . ● Step 2 When inserting an SD/MMC me mory card, follow the icon shown in the compartment to or ient the card. Push the memor y card all the way into the memory slot to i nsert.
11 ● Step 1 Press the Power butto n to turn on t he digital vide o camera. The Power LED will illum itate. ● Step 2 The LCD Display will turn on automatically . Function Tree Video Mode 4. Using Y our Digital V ideo Camera Note: The LCD Display will turn off auto matically if you do not use the camera for over 1 minute.

15 Recording Video This digital video camera can record video in the MPEG-4 format. In video mode, pr ess the menu button t o enter the vide o menu. Select video size: 1. Roll the sele ct button up or down to select 「 Size 」 and press the ok button.

17 Special effects : In video mode, pre ss the ok button to enter the special effects menu. Roll the select b utton up or down to select the effect tha t you want. Video playback: In video mode, pre ss the playback butto n to enter the vide o playback mode.
18 3. When playing, pr ess the right bu tton of the multi -func button to pause playing, and press i t again to continue playing. Pressing th e multi-function button up or down will adjust t he volume.

Roll the select butto n up or down to sele ct the file that you want to Protect. If the curr ent file has not bee n protected, press the ok button to protect the curr ent file and the icon will appear.
21 Right button Before taking photo s,you can configure your camera options by pressing the menu button . Select image size : 1. Roll the select button up or down to se lect 「 Size 」 and press the ok button. 2. Roll the select b utton up or down to select the size that yo u want to record and press ok the button .
22 Special effects: In camera mode, press the ok button to enter the spe cial effects menu. Press the up or down button of select button t o select the effect t hat you want . Effect options: Normal/Sepia /B&W/Negativ e/Red/P ink/Purple/Bl ue/Green/Y ellow Shooting photos: ● Step 1 Make sure the digital vide o camera is turned on.
23 The Macro indicator on t he LCD displ ay will illumi nate, allowi ng y ou to take p ictures at a cl oser rang e (between 17~22c m). ● Step 2 T o take pictures, follow the st eps in the "Shooting Photos" section. To take portrait an d distant pictures: ● Step 1 Push the Macro switch downward.
24 Photos index In camera playback mode , press the left button of the multi-func button to browse the photo index. T his shows 8 images pe r page in a mid-size previe w window. Press the multi-fun c button up or down to change previewed i mages, and press the ok button to retu rn to Playback Mode which display s selected image with ful l screen.
25 2. Press the select button u p or down to select 「 delete all 」 and press the ok button to ent er the “delete all ” file interface. 3. On delete all fi le interface, pre ss the select butto.
26 3. In the “Set all” interface, pres s the select button up or down to select 「 ok 」 and press the ok bu tton to set all of the files to D POF. T he print num ber for each picture is set at one . Select 「 cancel 」 and press the ok button to rese t all the files.
27 Direct print (for printers that support PictBridge ) Press the select button up or down to s elect 「 Print 」 and pr ess the ok button. You will be prompted to connec t the digital vide o camera to a printer with the U SB cable. If the connection is succe ssful, the print menu will appear.

29 MP3 Player Status Identifier: Getting MP3 Files Onto Your 305V: The DXG-305V has the abi lity to play MP3 file s. Only song f iles in the MP3 file format can be played in the MP3 function.
30 Playing MP3 Files: In MP3 mode, press the select button up or down to se lect the MP3 fi les that you want to play, t hen press the o k button. At th is time, you wil l see the time length and the baud rate of c urrent MP3 file. To play MP3 song selecte d, press the shutter butto n.
31 Fast Forward, Fast Reverse, Next, Previo us: When playing MP3 file s, press the up or down button of multi-f unc button once to select the previous song or ne xt song. Press and ho ld the left or right button of the multi- func button for fast r everse or fast for ward.

33 MP3 Player Menu: After the M P3 player st ops playing a song in MP3 mod e, press the men u button to enter MP3 pl ayer menu. Delete one 1.Press the select button up or down to select 「 delete 」 and then pres s the ok button.
34 If the current file has not been pro tected, press the ok b utton to pro tect the current file and the icon will appear. Press the ok button again to unprotect current file an d the icon will disappear. If on the other hand, the current file had be en protected, t he icon would have appeared.
35 In voice playback mo de, press the mult i-func button up or down to adjust volume. Fast forward, Fast reverse, Next, Previous : When playing vo ice recordings, pre ss the multi-func but ton once left or right to select the pr evious recording or next recording.
36 Voice playback menu: In voice playback m ode, press the menu but ton to enter th e voice playback menu 。 Delete one 1.Press the select button up or down to select 「 delete 」 and then pres s the ok button.

Connecting to Y our Computer : This digital video camera can be used as a W eb camera or a Mass Storage Device. ● Step 1 Make sure the digital vi deo camera has four ” AAA ” batteries in the co mpartment. ● Step 2 Connect the small er end of the USB cable into the USB port of your Digital Video C amera.
43 ● Step 4 Press the select button up or down but ton to select Mass Sto rage Device or PC Camera opti on on the menu screen. “Mass Stor age” allows y ou to download picture s onto your compute r by desigtating t he memory inside the camera as a separate hard drive or “Mass Storage Device.
44 System Requirem en ts Listed bel o w are t he minimu m system requi rements for t h e DXG-305 digi tal video camera. W e recommend t hat you use a computer syst em that exceeds the minimum require ments in order to utilize the vi deo camera to it’s fullest capac ity .
45 ● Step4 Select “DMA ” and click “OK” Note: Before playing Video Clips(* .AVI file), make sure your PC has a working sound card and DirectX8.
46 Installing the Camera Driver for PC 1. Insert th e S oftware CD supp lied by the p a ckage into th e CD-ROM drive. 2. The Auto-run pro gram will start and the we lcome screen will appe ar . (If your CD-ROM drive does n't support the auto -run function , please double c lick on the " My Computer " icon on the deskto p.
47 7. After the installa tion wizar d is completed, the fo llowing scree n will appear . Click " Finish " to complet e application ins tallation.

49 6. Press " Yes " to accept the conditions o f th e Legal Disclaimer and continue the installation. 7. Select the area and click " Next " to continue. 8. After ent ering the appl ication setu p screen, cli ck " Next " to continue.
50 10. Follow the installation w izard to sele ct the folder locatio n. 11. Select t he program f older name. 12.After the inst allation wizard i s completed, the fo llowing scree n will appear . Click " Finish " to co mplete the applicat ion installa tion.

53 Deadlock If the digital video camera appears to stop suddenly when it is running, it may be deadlocked. Check the battery level and pre ss the power button to restart. If you still can ’t restart, check to s ee if the vi deo camera has b een damaged by improper handling.
