5 Safety • When using lithi um-ion battery of t his product, ensure that it is inserted c orrectly. Inserting the batteryupsi de down can cause dam age to the product a nd possibly start a fire . • Use only the suppli ed type of battery and charger with the cam era.
6 1. Introduci ng the camera Read this sect ion to learn about the features and functi ons of the camera. Thi s chapter also cove rs system requireme nts, package conte nts, and front and rear vie ws.
7 1.3 Unpacking The following items should be present in the camera pa ckage. If any item is missing or appears damaged, conta ct your dealer im mediately.

11 2. Getting started Read this sect ion to learn how to sta rt using the digit al camera. This secti on covers only basic functions, such a s inserting the batt ery and memory card, turning on/off and ini tial setup. See lat er chapters for detail s about advanced funct ions.
12 2.2 Ins erting th e battery The camera is des igned to us e a rechargeab le Li-ion batte ry. Note: Install t he battery exact ly as described here. I nstalling the batt eries incorrectly could cause damage to the camera and possibly start a fire. 1.
13 2.3 Charg i ng the b attery Insert the batt ery into the charg er as shown and connect the power supply to the charging unit and the mains supply. The indicator on the charger w ill turn into red. It will take about five hours to completely c harge the batter y .
14 2.4 Turning on for t he first time Press and hold the power butt on for two seconds to t urn on/off the camera. The green L ED on the camera ligh ts up.
15 2.6 Before you star t Before you can use y our camera there are som e basic settings to be configured, please refer to the following secti ons. 2.6.1 Setting the date and time 1. Turn the camera on, and use joystick (Left/Rig ht button ) to System icon, and t hen press OK .
16 2.6.2 Setting the langua ge 1. Turn th e camera on, and us e joystick (Left/Righ t but ton ) to System icon, and then pres s OK . 2. Use the joystick (Up/Down button ) to select the Language option. 3. Use the joystick (Left/Rig ht butt on ) to sele ct languages, and press t he OK to confirm.
1 7 You can use the joystick to execute the following functions whi le taking pictures: Digital zoom Use the joystick (Up/Down butt on ) until the upper of the screen appears zoom display, and t hen use the joystick (Le ft/R ig ht butt on ) again t o adjust the digital zoom.
18 5. Press the joystick (ENTER button ), and the screen will appear the Setup menu under the Playback mode. (1) Use the joystick (Up/ Down button ) to sele ct the Delete option, and press the OK to enter. Use the joystick (Left/Right button ) to delete pictures or not (select to delete, no), and press the OK to co nf irm.
19 (3) Use the joystick (Up/Down button ) to sele ct the Slide show opti on. Use the joystick (Left/Right button ) again t o select 1s, 3s, or 5s, and pre ss the OK to view the pictures aut omat i cal ly : (4) Use the joystick Up/Down button ) to select th e DPOF option.

21 3. Use the joystick (Up/Down button ) to select previous/next video cli p, and press the OK to pla y the video clip. 4. To pause the video, please press the OK again.
22 Use the joystick (Left/Right butt on ) again to selec t Protect One, Pr otect All or Cancel, and press t he OK to confirm. (3) Press the ENTER but ton to r e tu rn to the playback mode. 8. Press the Browse again to leave the play back mode and ret urn to Video mode.

24 2.9. 2 Playing the audio file 1. Be sure tha t th e digital c amera is in Aud io recording mode. 2. Press the Bro wse to en ter the recording playback mode.Use the joystick (Up/Down button ) to select prev ious/next recording, and pre ss the OK to play th e recor ding.

Us e th e supplie d USB cabl e to connect the digi tal camera to t he computer. 2.10.1 Mass Stora ge The digital c amera can provide t he function of mass storag e which is the same a s card reader.

2 7 3. Using the camera Read this sec tion to lear n how to use the camera. 3.1 Photo mode Use the Photo mode to capture pictures, and store them i n internal memory or on an SD card. 3.1.1 Icons The following scree n shows the photo mode ic ons and their symbols.
28 3.1.2 Setting the flash While in Photo mode, use the joystick (Up/down button ) to highligh t the Flas h option, and use the joystick (Left/ Ri g ht button ) to sw itch the Flash mode. See the table below for a descripti on of each button’s funct ion.

31 3.2.2 Setting the size 1. While in Photo mode, press t he joystick (ENTER button ) to ente r the Setup menu to adjust the file format . 2. Use the joystick (Up/Down button ) to select t he Size opt ion. 3. Use the joystick (Left/Right but ton ) to selec t VGA or QVGA , and press the OK to confirm.
32 3.3 Audio or V oice Recording mode Use the Audio or Voice Record ing mode to record sound files, and then save them in t he internal mem o ry or SD ca rd . 3.3.1 Icons Use the follow ing picture to f amiliarize yo u rself with the Sound Recording mode icons and symb ols.
33 3.4.1 Setting the date and time Please refer t o the section 2.6.1 “ Setting the date a nd time”. 3.4.2 Setting the beep function 1. Turn the camer a on, and use joystick (Left/Righ t button ) to System icon, and then press OK to en ter Setup mode.
34 Note: Convert t he demo movie ands and pict u re files to the form at supported by thi s camera before saving them in t he camera. Please save t he converted movie and picture files or t he folder with converted movi e and picture fil es in the DEMO fol der of the came ra, or the camera c an’t execute the DEMO functi on.
35 3.4.7 TV Standard Use the TV op tion to set up the applic able local TV system. 1. Turn the camer a on, and use joystick (Left/Righ t button ) to System icon, and then press OK to en ter Setup mode. 2. Use joystick (Up/Down button ) to select the TV Standard option.

3 7 3.5 FM Radio mo de Use the FM Radio to receive radio reception from frequency FM 87.5~108MHz, record and sav e them in the in ternal memor y or on a SD card . 3.5.1 Sound recording icon Use the follo wing pic ture to fami liarize yours elf with th e FM Radio mode icons and symbols.
38 2. Long press the joystick (ENTER button ), and the camera wil l star searchin g f or the station frequency automatically . Press the OK to stop receiving the fr eque n c y durin g th is process. When finishing au to search, the c amera will save the s tation auto ma tically .
39 3.6 Music P layer mod e Use the Music player mode t o play the music in mp3 or wav format in th e interna l memory or on a SD card. 3.6.1 Icons Use the follo wing pic ture to fami liarize yours elf with th e Music Pl aye r mode icons and symbols. See the table below for a descripti on of each button’s functi on.

In song selecti on menu mode, use the joystic k (Up/Down button ) to select the songs you want to play , and press the OK to enter the playback mode.
41 3.7 Movie p layer mod e Use the Movie player mode to pla y the movie in AVI, AS F or MOV fo rmat in the interna l memory or on a SD c ard. 3.7.1 Mode icons Use the follo wing pic ture to fami liarize yours elf with th e Movie Playe r mode icons and symbols.
42 3. In this mode, use the joystick (Up/Down button ) to select the m ovie you want to play, and press the OK to enter the playbac k mode.(Note: the movie file name can just display numerals and lett ers, the other symbols will display as random codes.
43 3.8.1 Operation instructions 1. Turn t he camera on, and use joystick (L eft/Right button ) to the m ovie player unit , and then press OK to enter Photo viewer mode .
44 5. When viewing picture s, use the joystick (Le ft/Right button ) to select to displa y battery level, pict ure name, etc. 6. When viewing pi ctures, press the Browse to return to picture menu. 7. Press the Mode butto n , and the camera s ystem will switch to mode selection int erface.
45 3. Under the Boxman menu m ode, use the joys tick (Up/Down button ) to select Start option, and press OK to enter the game . Pr ess the Browse to return to the Boxman menu. 4. Under the B oxman menu m ode, use the joys tick (Up/Down button ) to select the Level option, and use t he joystick (Left/Right button ) to adju st the lev el (1~30 ).
46 3. Under the Tetri s game menu mode, use the joystick (Up/Down button ) to select Start option, and press OK to enter the game. Press the Brow se to return to th e Tetris game menu. 4. Under the Tetri s menu mode, use the joysti ck (Up/Down button ) to select the Level option, and use t he joystick (Left/Right button ) to adjust the level (1~7).
