1 Chapter 1 P rod uct Informa tion 1.1 Introduction and safety informat ion Thank you for purch asing Airlink10 1® W ireless N 150 3G/3.75G T rav el Rou ter , AR550W 3G . This slim an d comp act travel router assists y ou to set up a wireless network using your 3G/3 .

This route r is designed for indoor u se only; DO NOT place this router outdoor . 2. DO NOT put this router at or near hot or humid places, like kitchen or bathroom.

6 Chapter 2 C onfi gure the R outer This chapte r provides instructions to inst all a nd configure the 3G T ravel Router . Please follow the steps below to se t up the Internet and wireless connection. Step 1 Make sure power switch is switched to OFF .
7 B) Use USB Ca ble: Connect the provided USB ca ble to t he mini USB pow er jack, and plug the other end to 2 USB ports on your PC or Lap top. Note: it’s mandatory to connect both USB connecto rs at one end of the supplie d USB power ca ble to the computer .
8 Step 5 Connect to the Router from your Laptop/PC by wireless. The defau lt SSID is “Airlink101”. Windows 7 / Vist a Users: Click on th e wireless icon on the system tra y , select ‘ Airlink101 ’ from the available wireless net works, and click on Connect .
9 Step 6 Inse rt the Setup CD into your CD-ROM d rive. The Autorun screen will pop up. Note: If the aut orun screen does not com e up properly, go to My Comp uter Explore the CD Drive g o to EZW izard folder, then run EZ W izard.exe. You can skip Step 7 and go to Step 8.
10 Step 8 Selec t language then c lick “Next” to continue. Step 9 Click o n Wizard ..
1 1 Step 10 Click Next to start the EZ Setup W iz ard. Step 1 1 Conf igure the SSID (wireless net work name, i.e. myHome), Channel, Secu rity mode and Key for this router . It is suggested to select WP A 2-PSK for be st wireless security . Enter 8~63 characters into Key .
12 Step 12 Select the WA N type. If you are connecting your 3G US B modem to the route r , please click on 3G . Step 13 Select A uto -Detection and let the wizard d etect your 3G modem ’ s setting automatically or select Manua l and e nte r the 3G settin gs: Country , T elecom, 3G Network, PIN code, APN, Dialed Number , Username and Pass word.
13 Step 14 V e rify the settings you have conf igured. Click Next to save the settings and reboot the ro uter . This will take about 30 seconds. Step 15 Reconnect to the route r from your wireless compu ter with the new settings (SSID, secu rity key) that you configured in S t ep 1 1.
14 Note: Make s ure your wireless com puter is connected back to the Route r with the new SSID and Security Key . Step 16 Click Next to test the Internet Connection, or you can ignore the te st; just open the Internet bro wser and verify if you are connected to the Inte rnet.
15 If you canno t connect to the Internet, p lease go to 4.2 T rouble shooting . Step 17 Click Finish . Congratulations! Y ou r router configur ation has been finis hed.
16 Chapter 3 U sing Web Config uration Utilit y The Web Configuration Utility contains advanced features that allow you to configure the router to mee t your network’s needs s uch as: Access Co ntrol, Security and o ther functions.

18 3.1 Wizard Select W izard and click Enter after logging in to the route r and start the basic configuratio n. It is also located on the top menu bar. If you have gone th rough the EZ Setup W izard on the provided CD, you ma y skip this section. Click Next to s tart the Setup W iz ard.
19 Step 1 Change System Password. En ter the current pass word, new password and reconfirm the new password. (The defau lt password is ‘admin’. ) If you do not wish to change the password, please leave all f ields blank. Click Next . Step 2 Select your T im e Zo ne from the drop down me nu and click Next .
20 Step 3 Select 3G for WAN T ype if you are accessing the Interne t through your 3G USB modem. Select W i-Fi HotS pot if you want your router to connect to a W iFi network. Keep the LAN IP Address as ‘1 92.168.2.1 ’ or assign another one i f it is used by other device on your network.
21 Step 5 Keep the default SSI D (wireless network nam e) or change it to a desired name, so you can a lways recognize your local wireless network with it, f or example ‘myHome ’. Select a chan nel number for your wireless network. Click Ne xt . Step 6 Set up W irel ess Se curity for your router .
22 Note: It is sugg ested to write down the securit y settings (Authentication, Encr y ption and Ke y) you configured for the Router on a piece of pape r and keep it for you to add more w ireless device to your network i n the future. Step 7 V erify the information you have conf igured.
23 3.2 Advanced Settings Click on Adv ance d on the top men u bar to enter the advance d settings. 3.2.1 Basic Setting s Y ou can co nfigure LAN, Internet connection type, w ireless settings and system password for the router h ere.
24 3.2.1.1 Netwo rk Se tup You can conf igure the IP address of your router, and the Internet connection settings. LAN Setup Parameter Description LAN IP Address The local IP address of this router. Y ou can c hange it if necessar y . Subnet M ask Insert 255.

37 WPS Setup The AR550W 3G W i reless N 150 3G/3 .75G Travel Router h as a built-in Easy Set up Button (W PS) which allows you to connect your wireless com puter with the ro uter easily and safe ly. Your wireless adapte r must support this featu re as well.
38 Step 4 The Router will now start the handshake with the wireless adapte r w hich will take about 30 se conds. When you see th e wi ndo w sim ila r to t he on e be low, the co nnection has been established. T o configure the W PS settings of the router , click on W ireless on the left menu bar and then click on WPS Setup button.
39 Parameter s Description WPS Select Enable or Disable W PS function. AP PIN This is the W PS PIN cod e of this wireless r outer. T his code is useful when you need t o build wireless conn ection b y W PS with other W PS -enabled wireless devices using PIN.

41 3.2.1.4 Chang e Pas sword You can cha nge the password required to log into the Router’s web configuration u tility. The default pass word is “admin”. It is suggested to change the admin istrator’s defau lt password as s oon as you start to use th e Router, and store it in a safe place.

This page supports two methods to e xport system logs to spec ific destination by means of syslog (UDP) and S MTP ( TCP).
