The safety pr ecautions and r ecommendations r eported below ar e for your own safety and that of others. They will also pr ovide a means by which to make full use of the featur es offer ed by your appliance.
3 IMPORT ANT PRECAUTIONS AND RECOMMENDA TIONS FOR USE OF ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES Use of any electrical appliance implies the necessity to follow a series of fundamental rules.
4 INST ALLA TION CAUTION: ■ This appliance must be installed in accor dance with these installation instructions, local gas fitting r egulations, municipal building codes, water supply r egulations, electrical wiring regulations, - Gas Installations and ony other r elevant statutory regulations.
N.B. The connection of the appliance to earth is mandatory . If the installation r equires alterations to the domestic electrical system call a qualified electrician. He should also check that the socket cable section is suitable for the power drawn by the appliance.

7 The installation shall comply with the dimensions in Figur es 3 and 4, bearing in mind that: ■ A partition between the base of the hob and the cupboar d below should be fitted 0 mm below the workbench surface if the cupboar d is to be used for storage.

GAS SUPPL Y : ■ This appliance is suitable for use with Natural Gas or ULPG . (Check the “gas type” sticker attached to the appliance). ■ For Natural Gas the gas supply must be r egulated to obtain a pressur e of 1 kPa with t burners operating.
5. Check the minimum burner setting by quickly r otating the gas control knob fr om the maximum to the minimum position, the flame must not go out. If adjust- ment is r equired carry out the “minimum burner setting adjustment" pr ocedure described below .

This appliance is suitable for use with Natural gas or Universal LPG (check the “gas type” sticker attached to the appliance).
Figur e 13 13 MINIMUM BURNER SETTING ADJUSTMENT Check whether the flame spr eads to all burner ports when the burner is lit with the gas tap set to the minimum position.
USE and CARE CAUTION: ■ This appliance must be used only for the task it has explicitly been designed for , that is for domestic cooking of foodstuffs. Any other form of usage is to be consider ed as inappropriate and ther efor e dangerous. Do not use this appliance as a space heater .
LIGHTING GAS BURNERS ■ Check that the electricity is switched on to allow spark ignition. ■ Make sur e that all controls ar e turned to zer o. ■ The gas flow to the burner is contr olled by a tap incorporating a safety cut-off valve. If the burner flame should go out for some r eason, the safety valve will automatically stop the gas flow .
LIGHTING GAS BURNERS (FITTED WITH SAFETY CUT -OFF VAL VE) In or der to light the burner , you must: 1 – T urn the knob fig. 1 7 in anti-clockwise dir ection up to the maximum aperture, push in and hold the knob; this will light the gas. If ther e is no mains electrical supply , bring a lighted match close to the burner .
CORRECT USE OF TRIPLE-RING BURNER - DE30W GB model only ■ The flat-bottomed pans ar e to be placed directly onto the pan-support. ■ T o use the WOK you must place the wok stand in the CORRECT position as shown in fig.
Cleaning and Maintenance 18 GENERAL ADVICE ✓ Before you begi n cleaning you must ensure that the hob is switched of f. ✓ It is advisable to clean when the appliance is cold and especially when cleaning the enamelled parts.
ENAMELLED P ARTS ✓ All the enamelled parts must be cleaned with a sponge and soapy water only or other non-abrasive products. ✓ Dry preferably with a soft cloth. ✓ If acid substances such as lemon juice, tomato conserve, vinegar etc. ar e left on the enamel for a long time they will etch it, making it opaque.
IMPORT ANT W ARNING NEVER unscrew the bur ner plate fixing screws (fig. 22). The burner plates can be removed ONL Y by an authorised service agent. Damage to the appliance will occur if not observing this condition and this may result in serious injury to the user .
BURNERS AND GRIDS ✓ These parts can be removed and cleaned with appropriate pr oducts. ✓ After cleaning, the burners and their flame spreaders must be well dried and correctly replaced. ✓ It is very important to check that the bur ner flame spr eader and the cap have been cor - rectly positioned.
CORRECT POSITIONING OF THE SEMIRAPID AND RAPID BURNERS ✓ It is very important to check that the burner flame spreader “F” and the cap “C” have been correctly positioned (see figs. 23 24 and ). They shall be level and must not ro- tate. Failure to do so can cause serious problems.

SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE If the ignition spark fails to ignite or does not light the gas, check the following items befor e calling our Customer Service Centre to obtain the near est Authorised Delonghi Service Agent: ■ Burner is r eassembled and located correctly .
