Page 2 Packaging All packaging must be removed from th e m achine and disp osed of in a respons ible manner . Plastic bags and “B ubble wrap” sheets should be torn open to prevent children playing with them and accidentally suf focating. T ransport fittings The wash drum is secured during transport to prevent damage.
Page 3 Levelling 1. The machine must stand fi rmly on the floor . Any inst ability will negatively affe ct its performance. 2. The machine has two adjust able feet at the front. 3. T o level the machine, loosen the plas tic lock nuts on the adjustable feet.
Page 4 Electrical connection 1. The pow er cord mus t b e connect ed to a 15 a m p earthed wall s ocket 2. Do not connect the machine through a double adaptor . It re quires a dedicated powe r point 3. If the power cord should ever ne ed rep lacing, use only a genuine cord ( T ype ‘X’) av ailable from the nea rest Defy Service Centre.
Page 5 Features 1 Detergent dispenser . The detergent dispenser has 3 compart ments. ( See page 4.) Use only low foam deter gents specifica lly designed for front loading automatic washing machines. Dose as per the man ufacturer ’ s reco mmendations on the det er gent pack.
Page 6 Features Door Open the door by gently pulling on the handle. Close the door by pushing firmly until it clicks into place. Note: The door lock s during the wash cy cle Switch the m achine off and allow 1 to 2 minutes for the safety lock to disen gage.

Page 8 Sorting the laundr y Sort the laundry in one of the followin g groups: 1. White cotton and li nen as well as robus t colour fast fabrics. 2. Synthetics and synthetic blends as well as non co lourfast fa brics 3. Delicate fabrics such as silks and rayon 4.
Page 9 W ater intake filter The filters at the water intake point prevent dirt from en- tering the machine and should be cleaned every 30 to 40 washes. T o clean th e filters, cl ose the tap, disconnect the hose and clean th e filters with a small nylon brush.
Page 10 Do not wash in centrifugal machine Cleaning the pump filter A filter prevents foreign ob jects from entering and dam- aging the pump. This filter should be cleaned after every 30-40 washes. First disconne ct the machine from the power supply .
Page 11 Problem washing—C heck li st Greasy stains on washing. • Use more deter gent if washing is heavily soiled. • Use both pre-wash and main wash prog rammes.
