Soot or creosote m ay accumu - late in the exhaust vent system when the stove is operated under inco rrect conditions such as an ex- tremely rich burn.

The need for and frequency of cleaning depends on th e amount of pellets burned, pellet quality, length of time since last cleaning and the quality of the fire.
34 M M AINTENANCE AINTENANCE — — P P ERIODIC ERIODIC C C LEANING LEANING 1 T ON, SEASONAL OR BI-SEASONAL The #1 reason for a service call or unit failing is: FAILURE TO DO SIMPLE PERIODIC MAINTEN ANCE. With proper cleaning and the use of quality pellets, your Glow Boy Series appliance requi res very little maintenance.
35 FAN MOTORS: C lean the in-take on CONVECTION (ROOM AIR) fan as well as the air holes on the motors of both COMBUSTION and CONVECTION fans annually. FRESH AIR INTAKE : Inspect periodically to be sure that it is not clogged with any foreign materi als.
36 T T ROUBLE ROUBLE S S HOOTING HOOTING Proper cleaning, maintenance and the use of clean, dry, quality fuel will prevent the more common stove operational problems. However, when your stove i s si mp ly operating poorly or not at all, the following troubl e shooting tips may be helpful.
