Pull lock tab down and lift door up (towards you) to remove battery cover . Inser t four “ AAA ” batteries. Position batteries according to p o l a ri t y ma rk i n g s. Operation 3 Operation 2 Note Batteries not included with microT ALK2-w ay radio.
T urning On Y our microTalk Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds. An audible “ tone ” will indic ate the unit is on and then the LCD will go through a 3 second self-test and then go to Oper a tional M ode. Operation 5 Note Whenever the unit is on you can receive communic a- tions.
Select main channel by the Channel Button up or down. Operation 7 Operation 6 Note If you push and hold the Mode B utton,the LCD display will cycle through the different functions. Note T o return to O perational Mode and not save your last setting push and release talk button.
Operation 9 Operation 8 Battery Low W hen in normal use the icon may begin flashing. T his is a warning to you that your batteries are getting lo w. R eplace alkaline batteries as soon as possible and/or recharge NiMH battery pack.
Headline Operation 11 Note While T alk Button is depressed you cannot receive incoming calls. Note When you release the T alk Button,the person you ar e talking to will hear a tone indi- cating that it’s ok to talk. See Talk Confirmation Tone section on page 14.
Operation 13 Operation 12 T alk Confirmation T one Standby Mode When finished talking: Standby Mode Release Talk Button to receive incoming transmissions. Y our microTALK is always in the Standby M ode when the T alk Button is not pressed and you are not in Function M ode.

Press and release Mode Button again. Main Channel and icon will flash. Select desired main channel you wish to store (1-14) by pushing the Channel Button up or down. Advanced Features 17 Note Once you enter Memory Mode you can talk and listen to any channel you select af ter pro- gramming is complete.
