Operating Instructions 7 Safety of Children and Infirm P ersons • P ackaging materials (e.g. films, polystyrene) can be dangerous for children. Risk of suffocat ion! K eep pa ckaging away from childr en. • The appliance is not intendet for us e by young children or infirm per- sons without supervision.
Operating Instructions 8 • Allow the washing solution to cool befor e carrying out an emergency emptying operation or cleaning the dr ain pump. • Small animals can chew the power cables and water hoses. Risk of electric shock and danger of wate r damage! Keep small animals away from the washing machine.
Operating Instructions 9 2 Envir onmental tips • A pre-wash cycle is not necessary in the case of washing which is not excessively dirt. This saves detergent, water and time (and is gentle on the environment.) • If the indicated load capacities ar e taken full advantage of, the wash- ing machine is especially efficient.

Operating Instructions 11 Contr ol Panel Pr ogramme selector The progr amme selector is used to select the wash cycle (for example, water level, drum movement, number of rinses, spin speed) and the water tem- peratur e according to the type of washing.
Operating Instructions 12 } (EASY -CARES) Main wash cycle for easy-care fabric s (mixed fibr es) at 40 °C or 60 °C. < (EASY IRON) position: main wash cycle at 40°C for easy-care fab- rics which, after washing with this progr amme, requir e only light iron- ing or no ironing at all.
Operating Instructions 13 ä (ST AIN) For heavily soil ed or stained washin g. In-wash stain tr eatment products are washed in at the optimum ti me as the progr amme progr esses. Can only be selected with wash temperatur es of 40 °C and above, as stain treatment pr oducts are only effective at higher temper atur es.

With the next progr am start, this will close the solution container and the eco- sluice can function correctly .

Operating Instructions 17 Running a washing cycle Brief instructions A washing cycle consists of the following steps: 0 1. Open the door and load the washing.

Operating Instructions 21 Setting the delay timer The b (DELA Y TIMER) button allows yo u to delay the start of a wash progr amme. 0 Press the b (DELA Y TIMER) button once if you would like the wash programme to start in six hours. The 6h display will illuminate.

Operating Instructions 29 The washing ma- chine vibrates when operating, or is noisy . Tr ansit packaging was not re- moved. Remove the transit packa ging as described in the Install ation and Connection instructio ns. The machine is not level. Adjust the feet according to the Installation and Connec- tion instructions.
Operating Instructions 30 Washing is h eavily crea sed. Proba bly too much washing has been put in the drum. P ay attention to the maximum load quantity (see Pr ogramme Tables). In the case of easy- care fabrics, select the < (EASY IRON) prog ramme.
Operating Instructions 31 P ower failure dur- ing a wash pro- gramme (all indicator lights are off). The failur e may be caused b y a blown house fuse or by a mains supply fault int o the house. (For safety reasons, the door remains locked for ar ound 2m i n u t e s .
Operating Instructions 32 If the washing r esults are not satisfactory If the washing has turned grey and if limescale is deposited in the drum, then • Too little deter gent was used. • The wrong deter gent was used. • Special soiling was not pre-tr eated.
Operating Instructions 33 Carrying out emer gency drainage • If the washing machine no longer pumps off the washing solution, emergency dr ainage must be performed. • If the washing machine is in a room wh ere ther e is a risk of fr ost, emergency dr ainage must be perfor med if there is a possibility of frost.
Operating Instructions 34 When the water is completely drained: 6. Push the plug secur ely into the em ergency dr ainage hose and turn it clockwise to secure it. 7. Replace the emergency dr ainage hose in its holder . 8. Put on the flap and close. Dr ain pump The drain pump is maintainance-fr ee.
Operating Instructions 35 5. Check that you are able to turn the pump wheel at the very r ear of the pump housing. (If the wheel r otates with a jerky motion, this is normal.) If you cannot turn the pump wheel, please contact customer service. 6. Replace the pump cover .
Operating Instructions 36 Additional rinse cycles ( Á +/RINSE+) The washing machine is set for very economical water consumption. However , people who suffe r from allergies to deter gents, it can be helpful to rinse with extra water .
Operating Instructions 37 Child Safety Featur e If the child safety featur e is set, the filling door can no longer be closed and no washing program can be started. Setting the child safety feature 0 Use a coin to turn the rotary knob on the inside of the filling door clockwise as far as it will go.

Installation and connection instructions 42 Compensate for floor unevenness Floor unevenness can be compensate d for and the height can be cor- rected with the four adjustable scre w feet . The height can be adjusted in the r ange +1 0 .. -5mm. To adjust the feet use the special spanner supplied for removing the transport br aces.

Installation and connection instructions 44 W ater inflow A pressur e hose of 1.35m in length is supplied. If a longer inflow hose is requir ed, only a VDE-approved, complete set of hoses with fitted hose scr ew co nnections offered by our Customer Service is permissible.
