2 1 Getting Started This guide helps you quickly set up and use the Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7936 (Cisco mode l number CP-7936). The IP Co nference Station requires Cisco Unified CallManager , and your system administrator must prepare the network for the IP Conference Station.

14 Step 4 Connect the power supply uni t to the AC ada pter port on the PIM, and plug the other end into a standard electrical power outlet in the wall.
15 Note The startup process may take several minutes, and some of these messages may not appear because of the access speed of your network. After the IP Conference Station has successfully registered.

20 5 Softkeys Answer —Picks up the current call. CFwdAll —Redirects all of your incoming calls to another number . Confrn —Adds a party to a conference call. Corp Dir —Lets you se arch a corporate di rectory for a number to call. EndCall —Ends a call and retu rns to the re sting display or to the activ e call list.
21 4 Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7936 Web Interface This section describes the web interface fo r the Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7936. Description of the Web Interface Some of the features and functi ons of the IP Conference Station can be configured through the Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7936 web interface.
22 Using the Web Interface Perform these steps to access the IP Confere nce Station web inte rface. Step 1 Open your web browser . Step 2 In the address fiel d, enter the IP address of the specific IP C onference Station that y ou want to configure.
23 Using the Phone Book Web Page • Click Phone Book in the navigatio n pane. • T o view the entries by alphabetic sequence, click one of the letter combinations. For example to view entries beginning with the letter “D,” click DEF . • T o view the entries by phone number , click Dia l Numbers only .
24 Sounds The Sounds web page lets you select the ringer sound and the dial tone. Opening the Sounds Web Page • Click Sounds in the navigation pane. Changing the Ringer Sound Step 1 Select a ringer sound from the list box. There are five ringer sounds—Pro, Biz, Euro, Chirp, and Bell.
25 Diagnostics The Diagnostics web page lets you test network connectivi ty to another device. Opening the Diagnostics Web Page • Click Diagnostics in the nav igation pane. Pinging Another Device Step 1 Enter the IP address or name of the device tha t you want to ping.
26 A backlight illuminates th e LCD screen on the IP Co nference Station 7936. Th is backlight is turned on whenever a key is pressed. The backlight is tu rned off when the IP Conference Station 7 936 is not used or when a call exceeds one minu te.
27 Basic Features Placing a Call Step 1 Press the Phone button. Step 2 Dial the number . Answering a Call • Press the Phone button or the Answer softkey . The active call appears in th e active call list in the LCD screen. Ending a Call • Press the Phone button or the End Call softkey .
28 Muting a Call Step 1 While on a call, press the Mute button. The LEDs blink red, and a Mute icon appears in the LCD screen display . Step 2 T o turn off Mute, press the Mute button again. Ti p Y ou can a lso mute a ca ll by pressing the Mu te button on one of the external microphones, if installed.
29 Meet-me The IP Conference Station supports Meet-me confer ences. A Meet-me con ference allows other ca llers to dial into the conference call by using a specia l conference number that is configured by t he system administrator . Contact your system administrato r to obtain the number for a Meet-me c onference.
30 Remove Last Participant Removing the Last Participant from a conference The IP Conference Station allows you to remove the last conference participant to join a conference call. Step 1 During a conference call, press the Menu button. Step 2 Select Call Functions, press the Select button.
31 Step 3 T o cancel call forwarding, press the CF wdAll softkey ag ain. Setting Up Call Forwarding from the Web Interface Step 1 Log in to the web interface. See the “Using the W eb Inte rface” section on pa ge 22. Step 2 From the web interface options page, click Forw ard all calls to a different number .
32 Step 4 T o return to the call-on-hold, press the Resume softkey . Step 5 If multiple calls on are on hold, pres s the Up or Down scroll button to select a call in the a ctive call list, and then press the Resume softkey . A maximum of two calls are supported.
33 There are two types of call pickup featur es availab le on the IP Co nference Station: • Call Pickup—Picks up incoming calls within your own group. The appropriate call pickup group number is dialed automatically when yo u choose this feature. • Group Pickup—Picks up incoming calls within your own group or within other groups.
34 Volume Controls Adjusting the Speakerphone or the Ringer Volume • Press the Up or Down volume button to increase or decrease the volume. Adjusting the D ial Tone Volum e Step 1 Press the Phone button. Y ou will hear a dial tone. Step 2 Press the Up or Down volume button to increase or decrease the volume.
35 Step 4 After the search results display , use the Up or Down scroll button to select an entry . If the search results include m ore than 32 entries, you can press the mor e >> softkey followed by the Next softkey to display the next group of entries.
36 Phone Book The phone book is a convenient way to store freq uently dialed conference call numbers. T he phone book feature allows you to add a maximum of 20 entries to the phone book. Ti p Y ou ca n also use the Ci sco Unified IP Conference Station 7936 web interface to access the phone book.
37 Editing an Entry in the Phone Book Step 1 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select an entry . Press the Vi e w / E d i t softkey . Y ou can change or clear th e selected entry using the Change or Clr Entry softkeys. Press the < softkey to go backward when changing an entry .
38 Step 4 Press the – or + softkey to set the desired contrast of the LCD screen. Step 5 Press the Menu button to return to the main menu, or press the Exit button to return to the resting display . Ringer Step 1 Press the Menu button. Step 2 Press the Up or Down scroll button to select Settings.
