5 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Prior to using the appliance for the first time • Follow the “Installation and conn ection instructions” . • If the appliance is delivere d in th e winter months when there ar e mi- nus temperatur es: stor e the washin g machine at room temper ature for 24 hours befor e using for the fir st time.
6 • Switch off the washing machine prior to cleanin g it and carrying out maintenance. In additi on, r emove the power plug from the power point or – if the appliance has been har d-wir ed – switch off the cut- out in the fuse box or completely remove the fuse.

10 Prior to using for the first time Switching on the appliance fo r the first time - setting the language The display is set to English as standard in the factory . 3 Important: If the display does not show the menu for setting the lan- guage when the appliance is swit ched on, the appliance has been switched on before.
11 Setting the time So that the time and the end of the program ar e corr ectly displayed, please check the display and set the curr ent time if necessary .
12 Running a wash cycle Opening the door/Loa ding the washing 1. To open the door: pull the handle on the door . 2. Unfold washing and load it loosely into the machine. Mix large and small items. Attention! Do not get any washing caught between the door and the rubber seal.
13 Washing powder/tablets for the main wash cycle If you are using water softener and requir e the right compartment for detergent for the pr e-wash cycle, add the water softener on top of the detergent for the main wash cycle in the left compartment.
14 Changing the temperatur e Press the TEMP . key repeat- edly until the desired tem- pe rat ure is displayed. Changing spin speed/selecting rinse hold Press the RPM key repeated- ly , until the desired spin speed or RINSE HOLD is displayed.
15 Setting options Options can be added to a wash cycle that has already been selected. Press the OPTIONS key . The display shows the symbols fo r the options. 3 Only the options that can be combined with the cycle that has alr eady been set are shown in the display .
16 Pr ewash, Sensitive, Stain, Night Cycle 1. Press the OPTIONS key r e- peatedly until the desir ed symbol flashes, e. g., PREWASH. (With each pr ess of the key , the next symbol flashes – moving from left to right.) 2. Press the OK key . The symbol stops flashing.
17 Setting times Shortened cycles and the delay of th e start time can be set for a wash cycle that has already been selected. Press the TIME key . The display show s the symbols for Time Saving and Delay Start. Time Saving: SHORT or VERY SHORT 1. Press the TIME key r epeated- ly , until the SHORT symbol flashes.
18 Delay Start 1. Press the TIME key repeatedly , until the DELA Y START symbol flashes. 2. Press the OK key . “Start in 0 min” is shown in the display . 3. Press the TIME key r epeated- ly , until the display shows the desired period by which you want to delay the start, e.
19 Starting a pr ogr amme 1. Check that the water tap is open. 2. Press the START/P AUSE key . The progr amme is started or it st arts after the time delay set has elapsed. 3 If after pressing the ST ART/P AUSE key the display shows “Door not Closed”, the door has not been shut properly .
20 W ashing cycle complete / Removing the washing At the end of the cycle a long acoust ic signal sounds 3 time s (when the SOUND setting is NORMAL or LOW) and the messages “Cycle ended” and “Door openable” appear alternately in the display . 1.
21 Memory 1, 2, 3 Progr amme combinations can be stored at pr ogr amme knob positions MEMORY 1, 2, 3 and can then be selected using the pr ogr amme knob .
22 4. Using the OPTIONS key select the memory position to be changed, e. g. MEMORY 1. 5. Store the new progr amme combination using the OK key . SOUND The volume of the acoustic signal can be selected. 1. Turn the progr amme knob to any progr amme and pr ess the OPTIONS key repeatedly until the SETUP symbol flashes.
23 Language 1. Turn the progr amme knob to any progr amme and pr ess the OPTIONS key repeatedly until the symbol SETUP flashes. 2. Press the OK key . 3. Press the OPTIONS key r e- peatedly , until the display shows LANGUAGE. 4. Press the OK key . 5. Press the OPTIONS key r e- peatedly , until the desired language appears in the dis- play , e.
24 Contr ast and brightness 1. Turn the progr amme knob to any progr amme and pr ess the OPTIONS key repeatedly until the SETUP symbol flashes. 2. Press the OK key . 3. Press the OPTIONS key r epeatedly , until the display shows CONTRAST or or BRIGHTNESS.
25 1 War n in g! The knob must not be de- pressed after being set, otherwise the child safety device is not acti- vated. The knob must stand out as shown in the illustr ation. Deactivating the child safety device: Turn the knob in an anti-clockwise dir ection as far as it will go.
26 5. Clean all parts of the washing ma- chine, especially the nozzles in the top of the washing-in chamber , with a brush. 6. Insert the detergent dispenser dr aw- er in the guide rails and push it in. W ashing drum Rust deposits in the drum may occu r due to rusting foreign bodies in the washing or tap water containing ir on.
27 What to do if... Remedying small malfunctions If while the appliance is operating a short acoustic signal sounds 3 times and one of the following me ssages appear s in the display: – “No incomi.
28 Washing machine vibrates when operating or is noisy . Tr ansit packaging has not been removed. Remove tr ansit packaging. Screw feet not correctly adjusted. Adjust feet according to the Installation and Connection instructions. Washing has not been spun.
29 If the wash result is not satisfactory The washing is grey a nd there ar e limescale deposits in the drum • Too little detergent was used. • An incorr ect detergent was used. • Individual stains were not pr e-treated. • The progr amme or temper ature was not set pr operly .
30 Carrying out an emer gency dr ain 1 War n in g! Prior to carrying out an em ergency dr ain, switch off the washing machine and remove the power plug from the power point. War n in g! The water that comes out of the emer gency drain hose may be hot.
31 Dr ain pump The dr ain pump is maintenance-fr ee. It is only necessary to open the pump cover if there is a malfunction and water is no longer being pumped out, e.g. if the pump wheel is blocked. Before loading the machine, please always ensure that ther e ar e no for- eign bodies present in the pockets or in between the items to be washed.
32 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be r ecy- cled. The plastic components are id entified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the pa ckaging materials in the appropriate container at your local waste disposal facilities.

34 Installation and connection instructions 1 Safety information concerning installation • This washing machine cannot be built-in . • Before using for the fir st time, check the appliance for damage sus- tained while it was being transpor ted. Do not under any cir cumstanc- es connect an appliance that is dama ged to the mains.
35 • Do not lay the washing machine on its front nor on its right side (as seen from the f ron t). Electrical components may get wet. • Never tran sport the appliance withou t using the tr ansport lock. Only remove th e tran sport lock when the a ppliance is in its place of instal- lation.
36 3. With a suitable spanner unscrew and rem ov e t he ce nt ral rea r bo lt A . Slide out the relevant plastic spacer . 4. Un sc rew an d re mo v e t he tw o l arg e rear bolts B and the six smaller bolts C . 5. Remove the bracket D. 6. Tighten up the s ix smaller bolts C .
37 7. Open the porthole and remove the polystyrene block fitted with the ad- hesive tape on the door seal. 8. Fill the smaller upper hole and the two large ones with the correspond- ing plastic plug caps supplied in the bag containing the instruction booklet.
38 Making the appliance level 3 Automatic foot: The r ear foot on the left-h and side of your washing machine is built as a shock absorbin g foot, which is why the appliance gives in the back left-hand corner if put under load. The automatic foot guarantees that the appliance does no t move even at high spin speeds.
39 Should the plug need to be replaced for any reason, proceed as described below . The wires in the ma ins lead are coloured in accor dance with the following code: • The wir e coloured gr een and yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter “E“ or by the earth symbol E or coloured gr een and yellow .

41 4. Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thread. Always use the hose supplied with the appliance. Wa te r Dra i na ge The appliance dr ain hose should hook into a standpipe, the hook in the drain hose is formed using the plas tic “U-Piece“ supplied.
42 For drainage into an outlet spigot: If the outlet spigot has not been used befor e, remove any blank- ing plug that may be in place. Push the drain hose onto the spigot and secure with a clip if r equir ed. Ensur e the drain hose is looped upwar ds to prevent waste water fr om the sink entering the washing machine.
