The CPU that came with the mother - board should have a fan attached to it to prevent overheating. If this is not the case, then purchase a fan before you turn on your system.

H/W SETUP 15) W ake-On-LAN Connector ( 3 -pin WOL_CON) This connector connects to a LAN card with a W ake-On-LAN output, such as the ASUS PCI-L101 Ethernet card (see 7. Appendix ). The connector powers up the system when a wakeup packet or signal is received through the LAN card.

H/W SETUP 16) USB Headers (10-1 pin USB1, 5-1 pin USB2) If the USB Ports on the back panels are inadequate, two USB headers are avail- able for three additional USB ports. Connect the provided 3-port USB connec- tor set to these headers and mount it to an open slot on your chassis.

4. BIOS SETUP 4.1 Managing and Updating Y our BIOS 4.1.1 Upon First Use of the Computer System It is recommended that you save a copy of the original motherboard BIOS along with a Flash Memory W riter utility (AFLASH.EXE) to a bootable floppy disk in case you need to reinstall the BIOS later .

BIOS SETUP Boot Menu Boot Sequence The Boot menu allows you to select among the four possible types of boot devices listed using the up and down arrow keys. By using the <+> or <Space> key , you can promote devices and by using the <-> key , you can demote devices.

BIOS SETUP Exit Menu Exit Saving Changes Once you are finished making your selections, choose this option from the Exit menu to ensure the values you selected are saved to the CMOS RAM. The CMOS RAM is sustained by an onboard backup battery and stays on even when the PC is turned off.
