How to Select Flame Size For safe handling of cookware, never let the flames extend up the sides of the cookware. Watch the flame, not the knob, as you reduce heat . When fast heating is desired, the flame size on a gas burner should match the cookwar e you are using.
Most griddled foods require cooking on a preheated surface. Preheat griddle according to the guide below , then switch to the desired cook setting. IMP OR T ANT NOTES: ■ Avoid cooking extremely greasy foods and be careful of grease spillover while cooking .
11 In Case of P ower Failure In case of a power failure, you can light the gas sur face burners on your range with a match. Hold a lit match to the burner , then push in and turn the control knob to the LITE position. Use extreme caution when lighting burners this way.

15 ge. com How to Set the Upper Oven for Broiling—Close the oven door Place the meat or fish on a broiler grid in a broiler pan. Follow suggested shelf positions in the Broiling Guide. The oven door must be closed during broiling. T ouch the BR OIL HI/LO pad once for HI Broil.
If a f lashing time is in the display, you have experienced a power failure. Reset the clock . T o reset the clock, touch the CLOCK pad. Enter the correct time of day by touching the appropriate number pads. T ouch the ST ART pad. 16 Make sure the clock is set to the correct time of day .

45 Read these instructions completely and carefully. Connect the Range t o the Gas Supply Because hard piping restricts movement of the range, the use of a CSA International-certified flexible metal appliance connector is recommended unless local codes require a hard-piped connection.
Remove the wire cover (on the back of the range) by removing two (2) screws using a 1/4” nut driver . Do not discard these screws. Remove the 3 lower power cord terminal screws from the terminal block and the ground screw and plate. Place the terminal screws and ground screw in safe location for later use.
W ARNING: The neutral or ground wire of the power cord must be connect ed t o the neutral t erminal locat ed in the center of the t erminal block . The power leads must be connected to the lower lef t and the lower right terminals of the t erminal block .
Installation of the range. Locate the copper ground strap on the lower back of the range. Loosen the upper center screw on the terminal block . Slide the open slotted end of the ground strap under the upper center screw on the terminal block . Make sure the ground strap is all the way against the upper center screw and tighten it in place.
4-Wire Conduit Installation Option Replace the Power Cord (Optional) Continued Perform this step only if the power cord shipped on the range does not match your wall receptacle. Replace the wire cover on the range back by sliding its right edge under the retaining tab and replacing the two screws removed earlier .
Burner Heads (on some models) Place burner heads over the electrodes on the cooktop, in the correct locations according to their size. There is one small, one medium, one extra large and one dual flame extra large burner head. Oval (Cent er) Burner Head/Cap Assembly Place the oval (center) head/cap assembly over the electrode on the cooktop.
51 Read these instructions completely and carefully. Level the Range Install the oven shelves in the oven and position the range where it will be installed. Check for levelness by placing a spirit level or a cup, partially filled with water , on one of the oven shelves.
