6 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Control s The control knobs can be set to anywh ere between HI and LO. Push in a nd turn to se tting . On some mod els, the surfac e cook ing area locator shows which element is tur ned on. Use the following chart as a guide when set t ing hea t levels .
7 ■ Use flat-bott omed cookware for best heat conduction and energy ef ficiency . Cookware with rounded, warped, ribbe d or dented bo ttoms could cause uneven h eatin g an d poor cooking results. ■ Determin e flatness by placing t he straight edge of a ruler across the bottom of the cookware.
8 Cookw are IMPORT AN T : Do not leav e empty cookware on a hot surface cooking area, element or surface bur ner . Ideal cookware should have a fl at bottom, straight sides and a well-fittin g lid, a nd the ma terial sh ould be of medium-to -heavy thick ness.

11 BAKEWARE Hot air must be able t o circulate around food to cook evenly , so allow 2" (5 cm) of space around bakeware and oven w alls. Use the following c h art as a guide. 12 Baking and Roasting Before baking an d r oasting, position racks according to the “Position ing Racks and Bakeware” section. When roasting, it is not necessary to wait for th e oven preheat conditioning time to end before puttin g food in unless recommended in the recipe.
13 Custom Broiling If foods are cooking too fast, pr ess the TEMP/TIME “up” or “down” a rrow p ad unt il 325 °F (163°C) s hows on th e disp lay .

16 BURNER BOWLS (o n some models) Cleaning Method: Chrome only ■ Solution of ¹₂ cup ( 125 mL) ammonia to 1 gal . (3.75 L) water: Soak for 2 0 minutes, t hen scrub with stainless st eel-wool pad. ■ Oven cleaner: Follow pr oduct labe l instructions.
